Jeff Shi GONE

Perhaps I'm too cynical, but I'm surprised that people think there's a chance of a shift in mentality/recruitment process going on. Seems inevitable to me the interim Shi will be announced as permanent at some point in early Spring.

i suspect the publicity around us being on course to become the worst ever premier league team alongside jeff's car crash interview comments is what did for him though I also can't help but wonder if they're just taking him out of the firing line for PR rather than out of real concern for the club. i mean you didn't need to be even be semi-literate about this industry to realise jeff was not delivering much, if anything, in any executive sense and yet we are led to believe Fosun are an experienced investment group. it seems to have taken them an awful long time for the penny to drop. still the guy had to go regardless of Fosun's objectives but the pressure has to remain on them and will do whilst we remain bottom which is going to be the case the whole season. this is so obviously their failure and they should be reminded of it at every opportunity until they start making some credible decisions/appointments.

i'd also add the seeming trend of certain owners who've failed to invest in good practices to ensure success on the football field CAN be sustainable to start banging on about the need for the club to become self sustainable. talking up the academy is usually a sure sign of this. they have no problem monetising the fanbase or benchmarking ticket prices to top of the premier league yet as soon as failure looks likely the benchmark shifts away from our rivals who are achieving more with less and onto the past shitty seasons we've had. that includes the morgan/moxey years by the way, we're just on a similar if not more extreme downward curve.
