January Transfer Window, 25/26 Season

Hard pressed to think of a more disappointing signing for me personally.
There's a challenge. In your time, probably Collins, although next season he'll be captain of a team in a higher league than we are and obviously Johnson. Before that in terms of expectation Kevin Ashley is the one that springs to mind. We've had bigger wastes of money like fat Bob, but I thought he was at the time.

I'll chuck in Mark Atkins.

Premier League winner!

Banks's Premier maybe.

Jhon’s not crap, really, which hugely exacerbates the disappointment. For me.

I didn’t have real exposure to Johnson or O’Hara before it was clear they were, uhm, not particularly good at football nor at being anything other than dickheads. Thinking about it now, the first time I remember RoJo catching my eye was that incredible botched bicycle clearance against Swansea. Never saw him at Blues under McLeish IIRC.

C’est la vie.

I know you are a big fan of the award, but did he get POTS as a right back?
If he did win it then it would have been as sweeper in 96/97, but I'm not sure he did (it wasn't a public vote until 99/00)

If he did win it that year then it would have been another of our stupid awards, we have quite the catalogue of them (not quite as bad as Stearman over Sako, Mark fucking Rankine or Camara over Rae)

Stears didn’t even have his best hair that season! Truly a travesty we can never correct.

He isn't, he has some technical ability for sure and I was excited after watching a decent amount of the club world cup in the end. However, he is very much the South American Ayew brother on his evidence we have seen.

Looked predominantly unthreatening and contributed little. If he was younger and cost less it wouldn't be an issue, so ultimately happy to have it ended and for all parties to move on.

What Celtina really means without Google Translate

Celtiña = its how many know celta supporter in galician language: strong emotional bond with Celta. (not is spanish, its galician)

Its like the word: Morriña, too galician language. Morriña is more than homesickness of galician people for galicia, homesickness for the land.

About Arias, he look like good player, but seem more MF on one lineup of 4-3-3

like:

-----Gomes------------Arias------
----------------Andre--------------

Need good ofensive player up, he have good move and pass of the ball. Look like a creator.

In Wolves i view he many times in attack same Ferlo, and they are similar player, need player around he to pass.

I fucking love linguistics
Wolves = Lobos = Lobiño/a

If put in translator: Lobiño is a Galician word used affectionately to mean ‘little wolf’, but also to suggest a wolf-like spirit or identity.

and its true not its only about the size/age of the wolve, its too the spirit or identity: work too for wolves fans.

But are galician words.

Every team has some transfers that don’t work out.

In the last 12 months… Arias. Djiga. Wolfe. Munetsi. Agbadou. Tchatchoua. Tolu is more bang average than Larsen and Krejci has been competent at best. We also lost the best part of £25 million keeping Larsen for a few months.

We “replaced” Cunha, Semedo and Ait-Nouri with some of this dross and 4 are no longer, 2 can’t nail down a starting spot and Tolu only plays because there are no other options.

Rank incompetence is the only way any club makes almost every decision a bad one. I honestly can’t think of a comparable club who has messed up so spectacularly.

Leicester you'd have to say. Won the league 10 years ago and the cup 5 years ago. Getting points docked now, and could be heading to League One if they're not careful.

And they signed Wout Faes, and played him for years.

Sigurdarson for me. Was addicted to FIFA at the time and he got really good on one of the editions before we got him. Was quite excited about Fabio too...a sucker for a video game wonderkid.
