January Transfer Window, 25/26 Season

This might be a naïve question, but can someone help me, a non-ticket-buying fan, why attendance gets so much lower in the Championship? Excepting midweek games.
Lets say that they serve Yorkshire Gold in the Premier League and in The Championship they serve Lidl's own brand..

Terrible move for him tbh. Suspect it's out of the frying pan into the fire. Palace will lose their manager & with mateta looking to go, am sure Wharton & Henderson & others will be looking for an out too.
They're in trouble next season imo.

For jsl tho, he had to get out of here, as it had become untenable for him.
Was thinking exactly the same! Team in crisis next season.

Just standards and status, and partly the clubs you’re up against.
Example being Charlton at home next season has no rivalry to it, no status and no big club element so those only interest will be the hardcore plus a few.
Charlton are a bigger club than say Brentford, Bournemouth etc but it’s simply the fact one is a championship fixture the others are PL.
Things just feel very second tier when you’re in that league too, media coverage is second rate as is the build up etc

I think if we're 'Nuno-ing' it and look great there won't be much of a drop off tbh. But we won't be, so there will be.

On the window, suprisingly good fee for JSL, Hobbs is a fucking nutjob. I'm staggered at the Gomes deal tbh. I wonder if there's a world where he goes on loan to the PL while we're in the Championship and then is sold only if we fail to get promoted at the first attempt? You can't see him in the Championship. Armstrong is a sensible signing, fair play. I'd have liked to have seen Andre and Agba fucked off too, but can't have everything.

Suspect if we're at least competitive and in the mix for promotion or even playoffs, we'll still get 25,000+

If we’re bouncing around the play off places crowds will stay reasonable if we’re floundering in mid to lower half then that’s where the drop off will really hit.

It's probably too much to ask for but I'm really hoping for a decent reduction in matchday ticket prices next season. I was tempted to go to the Chelsea game on Saturday as I've got a rare free Saturday afternoon but £56 a ticket? Fuck that.

Obvs I understand why games are different categories but it still annoys me because I don't give a fuck who we're playing - I want to go and watch Wolves, be it against Man City or Shrewsbury.

Now that JSL is gone - can we remove his image from the top of the main page please .

No rush - a few days time will do , but he's gone and in reality has been for a while .

The images we possibly should have up there should be J Gomes , Krecji, Mane.......not being critical , just an observation .

were discussing that saturday. general consensus was that reasonably there is an expectation ST's come down by £200 or more, alongside an acknowledgment that senior management fucked things up. Unlikely to happen, and many people are likely to have a tough decision to make in the summer I expect.

Prices are £250 or more compared to average ST prices in the championship. Be interesting to see what kinda benchmarking we do then.

Also noticeable that as others mentioned saturday, Shi 2 has said v little about ticket prices, but is distancing himself - by saying there is an internal review being conducted by others.

Yeah I noticed that he was very careful with his wording - I hate the argument about 'competitive pricing' as it's total bollocks. I was priced out of attending YEARS ago but it would be nice to be enticed back with some sort of price reduction that isn't an insult to my wallet.

Let's say they drop them to £595 behind the goals, so a £140 reduction which is a pure guess, then giving a sth 5 'free' games you'd still be looking at around £35 pay on the day. That's a hell of a lot when the majority of games will be at nights or Saturday lunchtimes.

Hierarchy at the club need to understand that the hardcore of fans is only between 12-15k so you have real battle on enticing fans back through door when the PL status is removed.
we’ll play 23 home games im guessing 4 will be midweek before Sky get there hands on it. About the same number budged to Friday nights and about 5-6 moved to 1230 Saturday lunchtime gives you at best 9-10 Saturday 3pm games most were craving. That’s 13 games fans can sit at home instead of forking out to actually go and watch.
It’s a massive problem they need to realise, that’s before we even get onto the demographics of the fanbase.

Aren't the vast majority of Championship games on the red button anyway now? Not 100% sure but isn't it just the 3pm Saturday games that aren't available?

There is nothing stopping you doing your own banner and posting it up for adoption
