Isn't this what happened with the transfer to Villa of Tammy Abraham? He was on loan with an option to buy, they triggered it and then sold on.

But the reported valuation doesn't make sense, it feels like there's is something else going on here and it isn't just because RE had a cup of tea with him a few years ago..

I agree with the majority on both signings. Being quite so shit has stolen us a march on Armstrong and Gomes we'll see about next season and the Edwards connection. Shame we couldn't have got more out though whilst the likely fee is higher.

Really surprised by the lack of outgoings.

Didn’t expect much on incomings and I think both players we got will do very well in the Championship. Obvious question marks on whether Angel will want to stick around for that but he clearly knows the deal.

Nice that RE was largely responsible for him being open to it.

Yeah I thought/hoped we'd get rid of some of the cowards in the squad but you can only sell players if other clubs want them. Very pleased we got such an extortionate fee for JSL.

As for Angel - I can't for one moment believe he'll stick around next season, but I'm just pleased we've got a bit of genuine creativity in the squad now. We've been badly lacking that all season.

I've no doubt that we'll see a lot of activity in the summer, and I hope we have learned our lesson in trying to be clever in the market, and stop trying to sign wholly unsuitable players who aren't going to cut it in the Championship. Armstrong at least suggests the right kind of strategy, as depressing as it is to accept that's where we are now.

I always hope we’d learn our lesson from the summer of 2017 and replicate it. But apparently we can’t. Even though it did happen. Recently.

The idea is to go down with some positivity behind us and put things in place ready to go next season.
Relegation is horrible and will chop off a good proportion of the crowds but if the fans can see a clear plan and a desire is there to make a return asap I think they’ll respond.
Cant go down happy we didn’t beat Derby record, can’t have the attitude that we’ve been in this league before so let’s just deal with it.
Very cliche but the energy at the club needs reversing, for too long it’s been negative that’ll do for now type approach.
