January Transfer Window, 25/26 Season

By all accounts, the chap reporting it seems fairly reliable.
I am rapidly coming to the conclusion that NONE of them are. Romano's hit rate is through the floor lately.

No point in getting wound up by them. If we sign someone wahey, the darkness is a tiny bit lighter

Yeah, we signed 2 more players than I was expecting. Granted, I wouldn't have been very positive about Armstrong signing if we weren't in the situation we find ourselves in, but at least it's a signing with next season in mind, not following the failed philosophy of taking a punt on players who don't know the league they'll be playing in.

No way Angel Gomes is here next season.

If he does alright, there will be 10-15 Premier League clubs who are in for him at £6m.

So, the only chance we can keep him is if he's shit :D

Very strange in our position.

I’m actually finding myself quite positive on Armstrong. It’s been fucking ages, or feels like it, since we had an experienced PL player (I know, I know, but I really do buy into that being important) who wasn’t, uhm, decent at best (Doc).

We have the option to buy don’t we? If so we’ll trigger it and flip him should he have been a success and wants to move on.

We have the option don't we? So if loads come calling they need to bring their cheque books.

He has to agree to it, which he won't if there are Premier League clubs in for him. Why would he?
As with the other loan deals we’ve turned into permanents, our option to buy, the fee and his package is normally agreed in advance.
Whether he wants to move on after we trigger that option is an agreement between the club and him. Wouldn’t surprise me if an agreed fee for a release clause is already in place in such a scenario.

Shame we couldn't offload one of them. Or just stop playing them both together.
Crazy how they were great together last year when complimented by players around them who were forward thinking and could carry the ball. Hopefully Rob moves away from a back 3 and puts Angel in there with them and utilises Arias/Bellegarde in there too.

They’ve both been sold down the river by Jeff, Vitor and his skeletor friend. Andre knew the recruitment was shit and has been pissed off ever since and Joao is still trying to hard running and over committing far too much to compensate for what we haven’t got.

Sort of agree. The squad is unbalanced. If you want to persist with a back 5/3 you cant keep playing two defensive midfielders as well.

Feel like Andre is getting away with downing tools a bit. He's been as bad as JSL at times imo. Just a much better player so he gets away with it.

Because he gets one big fat dose of signing on fee to sign permanently with us, as does his agent, and then a second big fat dose of signing on fee if he gets flipped.
