January Transfer Window, 25/26 Season

Thing is, you have to go down to Charlton in 18th to find a club with as much chance as us being in the PL next season. He'd be silly to leave Bristol City now, for a few months PL money. It makes much more sense to target that type of player in the Summer when they haven't gone up when we will be much more attractive.

See I don't think the league and the chance of the Prem is as alluring as people claim. Its money and ambition which are as important. The Saudi league proved the Prem's appeal to many was the biggest wages and that they would be happy to move to a less prestige league for more money.

Being promoted doesn't necessarily come with a wage increase, a transfer from many teams to Wolves would, regardless of relegation. Unless I am at Cov I am probably wanting to speak to Wolves. Its up to our recruitment team to mess it up then.

If it's about ambition then you are contradicting yourself, there's nothing ambitous about signing for a side that worst case will be in the same league as you next year, when there's the possibility of staying put and playing higher.

We shouldn't be signing anyone who is coming for the money. We've a long list of players who came for the wrong reasons / never really wanted to be here - Guedes, Fabio, Nunes, Trincao, Cutrone to start with and more recently those that saw us as a very short term stepping stone, Agbadou being the latest following on from JSL. I also disagree with promotions not coming with a wage increase, every Championship player will have that, a large bonus or both in their contract

Yeah but a chance of it happening in your contract is not the same as having the wage increase now though. Your logic rules out loads of people I feel Tony. Players came here from Portugals best sides to play for sides like Us, Bournemouth and Fulham. They didn't just do that for the allure of the league. And they aren't all no hope mercs.

Could that be financial for them? Given the money they spent on League 1 signings I wouldn't be surprised if they are capped at the moment.

Who shall we send over to the Celta forum, to tell them how they should be playing?
It is very patronising when he posts on here, talks to us like we haven’t got a clue about how football works and we should all bow down to his expertise.
