January Transfer Window, 25/26 Season

Considering Joao Gomes is "nailed on" to leave either this window or the next, wouldn`t it be a good idea to bring Boubacar back and give him a bit of game time?
Not sure he's good enough , then again he rarely got a run in the team , and whenever they tried to give him one he picked up an injury .

In terms of not having any business done thus far apart from loaning out Hoever - very few other clubs have any business done . It's been very quiet , and a lot of it will happen in the final 10 days one suspects , and it will be loans mainly .

Providing finding a replacement for Gomes is on the agenda. Anyway, vital month innit?

Odd that as this is being regarded as a vital month, we are halfway through it and........diddly squat.

Besiktas making an actual bid for Agbadou now.

Shi, VP and his pal rightly get a lot of stick for the summer but no wonder Hobbs got sacked when last January’s business was Munetsi, Djiga and Agbadou. All gone or loaned out within a year.

The summer was the final nail in our shitty coffin but it's years of crap recruitment which has left us with this squad.

And he's walked straight into a better job

I don't think it is a "vital month". We won't be able to sign anyone good enough for the PL or for a promotion push next season. I fully expect a maximum of 2 loans at the end of this window.

All we can do is clear out some deadwood at this point.

Agreed.

Which is why the club are either being naive or gaslighting us about what they expect from it.

In fairness they can't really openly say 'we are obviously down so what's the point in signing anyone, it's a waste of money and anyone decent won't join anyway'.

We all know that's the case though.

Yeah, I know people have become giddy after winning one league game, with a couple of draws, whilst smashing a League 2 outfit but you only have to look at who else we have to play in the remaining fixtures to come to the conclusion that we're fucked.

I don't see anyone attacking Munetsi on a personal level, i.e his character or personality, just his technical ability... and on that metric he is garbage.

I could flower it up I guess? But I don't really feel the need on a football forum discussing the (de)merits of players.

I've been gaslighted by the club long enough in recent times, I don't need to gaslight myself into the bargain. . .
Tbf I’m not just speaking about direct ad hominems; it very much is the sort “so and so is fucking garbage” language that bugs me, even if is sometimes hard to call “untrue” (I can’t pretend that Marshall’s first touch is good enough for the Prem, for example).

I’m not so far up my own ass to think I can stop the emotions running high or change the rhetoric in some meaningful way, but occasionally I’ll wave my arms and throw a hissy fit over it.

I don't get it to be honest though.

If we have shit players (we do) then what do you want people to say?
