January Transfer Window, 25/26 Season

Hackney wouldn't join us. Clubs with a greater than 1% chance of staying up would be interested, or Boro could go up and he doesn't have to go anywhere.

We don't have anything to offer right now. Even if you felt that us in the Championship next season was appealing, why sign up to months of losing most weeks first and having your morale battered? Just wait, nothing is going to change.

Unfortunately this is all true. All we can hope for is a continuation of recent form and try not to end up as the worst Premier league team ever, slim pickings.

Plus, Gibson who has a history of holding a grudge has said he'd not sell us anyone at any price.

Yep we need to win 10 draw 3 and lose 4 just to break 40 points and that’s probably going to be the requirement for survival this season. It’s borderline impossible even with 4-5 good additions let alone a couple of them.
Are aims for the rest of the season are pitiful, first is to get to 12 points then it’s to add a few more to make it look respectable. It’s just pathetic a situation to be in.
The cup holds the last glimmer of something enjoyable to play for.
I’m not going to be duped by a small upturn in form against a hopeless Man Utd, dreadful West Ham an average Everton and an appalling Shrewsbury side.
Absolutely nothing appealing about this club to anybody of any quality.

Best we are going to get are loan players that are going to use us to show there still worthy of a Prem club next season (Ie- A Coventry, Ipswich, Boro etc etc)

Not that i disagree with the thrust of your of post JD, but why do you think 40 points would be needed to stay up?

There are opportunities and positives to be taken from every situation in football. Surely they can identify players who normally wouldn't get the opportunity to play 6 months of PL football but might have something to offer us next season.

Forest currently on track for 38, add our GD in and that's 39. It'll be a high number this year unless the bottom 3 stay adrift and teams then cruise to the end. Having a team like ours in the league automatically inflates it anyway given we've lost at home to 4th and 5th from bottom

If we have the turn around needed to get near to 40 points our GD wouldn't be a problem.

It seems like this conversation happens every year, and then low 30s is often enough.

Anyway, it's moot.

What we need is to show a bit of fight between now and the end of the season, because we've shown fuck all fight so far (the past few weeks excepted). It won't be enough to stay up, but it might help carry a little bit of belief into next season. That's a better scenario than just giving up and limply accepting our fate.

Of course, we need to completely change the squad, but I'm more concerned about getting the dreck out of Molineux because if we don't, we run the risk of having some very expensive shit on our books that we can't shift. If we can get players in who want to play for us with an eye on next season, great. But removing the bloat from the club is just as if not more important at the present time.

It's going to be much easier to recruit players for next season once this shit show of a campaign is over - I'm expecting nothing other than a 20th place finish. That's really not a very appealing proposition right now.

You'd expect Forest to reach 40 or near as dammit. They just have to maintain their current ppg. Its moot anyway as PJ says, we're getting to 25 max imo.

Yep. All of the bottom 3 have got less than average points so someone else has to get them. Same at the top end where the top 4/6 aren’t ahead of the rest like they normally would be so the points are redistributed to the bottom half there as well

5 and 6 points more at this end of the table at this stage of the season is quite a big jump. Clearly low 30s is unlikely to be enough unless you think both Leeds and Forest will struggle to get another 10-15 points?

Having seen Forest recently i don’t think they carry on at 1ppg but it may be enough if they only get another 10 points. They’ve got Europe starting again soon, their away games are extremely tough and Dyche is a terrible manager.
