January Transfer Window, 25/26 Season

Our best run of the season has come with him not being in the squad, and he's been awful this season anyway. Bye bye.

It'll be a weird window because I don't particularly care at this point about replacing players who are leaving - I just want us to be rid of them.

We shouldn't be letting anyone go this window with an option. Money now or an obligation in the Summer. We need to be doing our business early in the next window (yeah I know right), we can't afford to have that compromised by having money tied up in players who won't be staying as we have a decent idea that the club won't spend until they are off the books, I think that goes deeper than J Shi.

Agba was genuinely good last season, been poor this but had started to look a bit better recently so Im a bit disappointed. If he doesnt want to be here then he can fuck off. Agree with TT, we dont want a loan unless its an obligation. Witjout him we're ok at CB for the rest of this season, depenfong what happens with Krejci then look in the Summer.

As TT has already stated, fuck this "option to buy" bollocks... loan and then compulsory purchase in the summer.

I don't want to be stuck with any of these cunts in the summer, once we've been relegated, and then have our summer transfer policy disrupted/distracted by having to sort transfers out of the club for these wankers.

Had seasons of that shit with Fabio and Guedes, to name just two, and I don't want another summer of that shit with players that don't want to be here stinking the place out with their attitude.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned in here but a work colleague is convinced that Ross Barkley is having his contract terminated at Villa and will be on his way to us.

Worked with Edwards at Luton (and had a very good season) and fills a positional need.

I think he’d be good but depends a lot on him staying fit

A fit Ross Barkley would easily be our best midfielder.

The Ross Barkley that’s been on show for the last couple of years most definitely wouldn’t.

I have a feeling I know which version we’re getting.

I'm fitter then Barkley and I'm 17 stone, two gammy hips on top. Fuck that right off..

I feel like there are actually very few players that are fit and available for an entire 40 game season. As long as you aren't running your squad stupidly small, having a player like Barkley available for 18-25 games next season would be a big step to actually having some confidence we have a chance of an instant return. The type of game changing quality that could see you get an extra 10 points.

The issue would be match fitness/sharpness, not knowing he will miss games.

I’m quite keen to see Rodrigo given some game time in that more advanced role which we saw him move into v Shrewsbury. We certainly lack players that want to arrive in the box and get on the end of stuff - he obviously scored his goal and would have had a second had Tolu not tapped in his. It’s something I remember him being really good at in pre-season when he first joined (arriving in the box to get on the end of things) - then for some reason Gaz didn’t play him. I’m quite excited by the prospect of him playing CAM or even where Hwang has been off a big man, because I’m not convinced he’s a wing back.

But yes, I’d be ok with Barkley as a squad option, so long as we’re not relying on him every week.

Too lightweight for me wherever he plays. Sometimes he looks like a kid playing against men. Impact sub when the games stretched is his role for me and also where he's seen success.
