January Transfer Window, 25/26 Season

Agbadou typifies our time under VP.

Got away with being shit, somehow.

Was always going to catch up with us, though.

I appreciate it's a weird thing to say but the pre season videos of the players worried me far more than the lack of business in the summer. They struck me then as a very unserious, laid back, rudderless group. Guys like Agbadou, Mosquera and Strand Larsen clowning around and then you've got people like Doherty & Toti who are supposed to be leading them.
Hang on. You labelled me “hysterical” and jumped on more or less every post I made in the summer for saying precisely this, alongside the lack of transfer activity and the general embarrassment that passed as our transfer window.

Perhaps you agreed with my wider points but were just too proud to admit it, after all 😉

At least we have Fosun, Jeff Shi & this bunch of utter rats for finally bringing the fanbase together!

Sounds like we’re potentially recalling Lima so we can flog him permanently (according to rumours in Brazil) - and Besiktas are sniffing around Agbadou with us willing to sell in Jan.

I guess the mass exodus is about to begin. Rats.
Sell them all. I really don’t care.

Ok, spill
Oh just that:
- the players didn’t feel fit enough, training was too relaxed
- vitor had lost players, he talked shit all the time

which I just dismissed initially but very quickly became evident. It’s obvious he fell out with Agbadou and Andre then you had Larsen pretty much refusing to play.

Since then I’ve heard:
- Vitor was sharing the squad/teams by text
- Edwards has done a session where they basically ran until they threw up. Told a lot of them they can go
- Agbadou, Doc, Joao, Andre, Mane and Rodrigo are the only ones who train like they give a shit (Munetsi, Wolfe and Toti train OK).

Makes sense why Tolu hasn’t played more then. Had to be something behind the scenes as JSL has been so poor.

When is Rodrigo back?

One less nickname for me to annoy folks with

Re: Agbadou; how come the one time I'm cynical is the one time I'm right? He had an unbelievable start, both in his performances and in how "just in time" his challenges were, but he always seemed a sliver away from that timing being wonky. It never quite felt like he was intending everything he was doing.

Sorry, needed to stroke my ego a bit.

After Jinky's post earlier this hardly touches the sides.

What I don't understand is why Vitor wouldn't just get the squad up to an acceptable standard of fitness. Isn't that just an easy win as a head coach? Also, with players like Munetsi around, surely being one of the fittest in the league would be a necessity. I don't get what Vitor achieves by neglecting this.

Compare that to Loppers.

Seeing as Vitor has often been a short term fix manager, has he been involved with many pre-seasons? Maybe he spent more time in pubs pulling pints as on Football Focus
