January Transfer Window, 25/26 Season

I see Cristian Uche's loan at Palace is likely to be terminated early as he hasn't featured in a single game so far.

Hardly encouraging but I wonder whether he would be worth a punt?

he's come on as sub a few times, including this weekend?
But quite probably not what we're looking for at the moment.

No to any of more of Vitor's giant Pulis-style targets, thanks.

Also he didn't want to be here in the summer and we're hardly a more attractive proposition now

He played for his Spanish team before he went to Palace so we couldn't sign him anyway

He’s played for 2 clubs hasn’t he so can only go back to his parent club. Same as Harvey Elliot.

Palace fans think he's bang average.

Good move for him and us.

Just as well we have enough depth and he wasn't one of the signings our season was riding on
The decision is, of course, being slated on social media. Lots of “we have a shit squad anyway”, “we need attacking midfielders and he isn’t being used”, “we are losing loads to AFCON” etc etc.

There are some decent British players in League One that we can pick up cheap and be ready for the season after next...

The fact he isn't being used shows why he needs to go on loan. Someone else said this elsewhere, but the club wanting to be self sustainable but then having such a small squad still, and then paying what we have for projects, who need to be contributing due to the small squad is a baffling move.

Feel like anyone else buying Lopez in the Prem would have him stashed off someone for about 2 years.

It’s a terrible signing on the basis he needed to fit straight in considering our situation.

We had the same in the earlier transfer window with Djiga, luckily Agbadou proved an asset at the time.

This constant need to fork out on 'potential' that never gets fulfilled at Wolves has been such a frivolous failure over the past few years, all while continually neglecting the first team

Yep agree. I've no issue with bringing in young talent to either make a difference or make a profit but you have to do it from a position of strength. I said elsewhere, if we had spent 18m on him without having to sell all the family jewels in one go then yes its good but to try and do it with no obvious top quality still in the squad is madness.
