January 2022 Transfer Thread

I know I have not posted for a long while i have been suffering with some mental issues culminating in a breakdown that nearly cost me business and wife.

My 2 pennorth FWIW on the transfer window and the squad.
I was very relaxed, thabks to Gomez, and Silvas recent performances we did not need to go get someone in those positions.
Like everyone have a midfield 2 of Neves and Mouthinho is brilliant abd as good a pairing in any team outside of City and Liverpool. You do worry with Injuries etc but the reality in January is getting a CM to come in would be a tough ask, if we get a youngster to come in that may just stunt Cundles progression and maybe just maybe Lage thinks Cundle is tge bext one to break through and thats why he has not gone out on loan.

Me I am delighted with Lage, delighted with the team and delighted with Fosun, i truly believe when Mouthino is ready to go they will have a plan to go and get someone in that position.

Losing Adama yes its a loss, but how big?
He does loads of great runs but rarely is there any sort of end product, we dont know just how good Chiquinho will be he may not have that raw power that Adama had, but his end product may be 10 tines better.

I always said In Nuno we Trust, and cried when the news broke, but well done Shi and Fosun what a remarkable appointment in Bruno.
Hope you're doing ok, pal.

God damn it, now I want to watch Barça.

I just cannot fathom Adama in Xavi’s system.

Not always agreed with you Glasgow but glad you're doing better. It's a shit, scary place to be in, good to see you (hopefully) coming out the other side of things.

Traore - Aubameyang - Torres

Seems like a decent front three. Though the latter two will be doing a lot of the heavy lifting in terms of output I'm guessing!

Torres would be the central of the three, no?

Yeah maybe, with Auba off the left. I just remembered Torres playing there for Man City.

I think Auba played RW when he was at ASSE. Been a long time now, though.

Auba generally played off the left for Dortmund (but had a licence to do what he wanted tbh).

Torres looked bang average for Citeh on the right. Was ok through the middle as he's a decent finisher.

We all know Adama looks most dangerous (in relative terms) cutting in off the left. Too one dimensional on the right and can't hold the ball up for shit or finish, so no way a central striker.

That front three looks fairly average to me unless PAE is able to roll the years back.

I reckon Neto Raul Podence isn't a million miles away from it.

I also can't see Barca taking up the option on traore, because traore is Traore

Yep. We aren't just going to let an actual first teamer go for a free loan for a bit. This isn't a shit Guy Ritchie film. He's gone.

I actually think he will do well enough to secure a move anyway. If it’s not already agreed that is.

I fully believe that right now Barca have every intention of making traores move permanent.

I also believe that come the summer and after seeing him play, they'll look for any reason to not go through with the deal.

They’ll have seen him play loads already.

I would be absolutely staggered if we don't have some concrete written contract. The use of the word option seems purely because Barcelona financial issues meant they couldn't publicly use the word obligation. LaPorta has come out today saying they are definitely exercising it.

True, but they'll believe that Xavi is the man to finally coach some end product into him at the moment. Give it 4 months and they'll change their tune on that
The triumph of hope over experience!
