It's Official!!: Europa League Thread

Sevilla - 4th in La Liga
Roma - 5th in Serie A (miles behind 4th though)

There was no first leg in that game so all on the one match.

I don't care either way. We'll take anyone on.

At our best we're capable of winning the tournament without a doubt.

Sevilla are decent enough but they play Jesus Navas at right back and Roma are not solid at all, they could have Fazio and Kolarov as the left side of their defence, imagine those against Adama.

On the Adama front I wonder when he'll have his shoulder surgery? I guess we prioritise the EL over the start of next season

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but he should have been under the knife as soon as the lockdown was announced.

Well i should imagine so and i think they should. It needs to be sorted though as it's definitely an issue.

I watched Sevilla against Espanyol (who we know are no great shakes, in fact they've gone down this week) before we played the latter. Sevilla were all over them early on but struggled after conceding out of nowhere. Only just about got a draw against 10 men.

They're to be respected, but not feared.

If we turn up and play well we’ll win, if we play as we have recently, we won’t.

Hopefully this weekend will be the start of playing ourselves back into form.

why haven't Wolves confirmed its behind closed doors....wanting to hold on to peoples money for a bit longer?

"As a supporter in receipt of a ticket for our UEFA Europa League Round of 16 home game versus Olympiacos, we would like to inform you of your options in regard to a match ticket credit or refund, given that the game will be played without supporters present in stadia.

We plan to add a credit to your supporter number which can be redeemed against a future European competition match ticket for the same stand and price category. No further action is required from you at this stage.

If you wish to obtain a refund via the original method of payment used, this is also possible by following the steps below:
• Email your request with subject heading ‘Wolves v Olympiacos refund’ to ticketrequests@wolves.co.uk, including your supporter number and the transaction number which is ******
• The refund will then be processed within the next 28 days.
• Refund requests must be submitted by midnight on Friday 17th July.
We understand the disappointment of our supporters at not being present in the stadium as we continue our Europa League journey, but be assured Nuno and the team will be feeling your support as they strive to progress to the next stage of the tournament"

You just got this via email presumably?

I think we will go through against Olympiacos but will be much harder after that..very interesting, we have been clinical in the EL

Got mine.....bit presumptive what if we don't qualify for Europe?

Or what if we do but we're out by the time fans are allowed back in?

Who gets precedence if an early European games reduced capacity ticket holders who haven't refunded or STH's etc?

Doesn't say whether its a credit to use at a game of our choice or theirs,

Bit like the Bournemouth one, vague as fuck and designed to just delay processing refunds.

Got mine.....bit presumptive what if we don't qualify for Europe? - Well we find out in the next few weeks won't we. Sure the club have something in place

Or what if we do but we're out by the time fans are allowed back in? - I'm sure a back up plan is in place but keeping things simple right now

Who gets precedence if an early European games reduced capacity ticket holders who haven't refunded or STH's etc? - No doubt being worked on as its something they will have to use across all games early on when fans are allowed back in. May also find any rules the FA/PL come up with are then removed by UEFA for their comps so pointless trying to 2nd guess what they will do. Until a plan is a agreed they can't comment on that yet can they.

Doesn't say whether its a credit to use at a game of our choice or theirs - As it states against a Euro game, one can easily take that as any game you want as long as it involves a Euro team. So your choice but limited to Europa/CL. I don't think they can say "1st Euro game up, you are buying whether you like it or not"

Bit like the Bournemouth one, vague as fuck and designed to just delay processing refunds. - Not really going to delay refunds it is. You want one, you get one, pretty simple and straight forward to me. In this instance, unlike the Season Ticket rebate I have requested the refund so I avoid any fun and games should points 1-3 happen. If we get back in Europe and I am allowed in, I will just buy again

Bastards putting the Olympiacos back to a normal kick off time...

That Duisburg ground is quite nice. Shame about the team like.

Maybe we could get Herr Maierhofer's input on the conditions. They loved him there, in a non-ironic way too.
