It's Official!!: Europa League Thread

From the BBC Live Page

Loving the fact that Stale Solbakken has already been asked about the possibility of facing former employers Wolves in the last 16 of the Europa League.

The Norwegian boss, who is now in charge of FC Copenhagen, joked that the expects to see a statue of himself outside Molineux if he returns there.

Solbakken was sacked by Wolves on 5 January 2013 after they had lost to (then) non-league Luton in the FA Cup. His six-month spell in the Midlands did not go well.

Bit of a bump last night but the overall result is what matters.

I am genuinely excited at the draw today, I havent been like this with football since I was a kid.

I don't care who we get as long as it is not Man Utd.

My preference would be Copenhagen but even if we get someone like Inter, Sevilla or Leverkusen then it would be a great tie to look forward to.

Surprised nobody has mentioned Shaktar Donetsk as one to avoid, just because it's a trip to the Ukraine, not the easiest place to get to

Selfishley, Sevilla would be a great draw 2 and a half hour car journey.
Getafe would also be good just outside Madrid.

Yep Ukraine is never an easy trip and Shakhtar seem to always have a supply line of half-decent Brazilians to call on for some reason.

Not seeing much mention of Rangers either. Would be...interesting.

I don't want:

Man Utd
Getafe
Inter
Sevilla
Leverkusen

After that I would be happy with anyone.

I would hate Rangers. Fed up of Wolves fans sucking them off. Horrible, bloody, infected cunt of a club.

Hope we get Rangers still an exciting tie (two British teams and all that crap) but without much risk of not getting through.

Only plastic loyalists or divs that go abroad and sing no surrender that suck them off isn't it?

Think Rangers would be an ideal draw: a) if they're worse than Celtic they must be truly awful and b) decent chance of the tie going ahead, which there might not be if we draw some European teams

So basically most Wolves fans then.

Hear anti Irish chants regularly at Wolves games all the time. Plenty in Barcelona last night. Wolves/Rangers stickers all over the place.

Agreed. And obviously I really hope that the coronovirus situation is better for anyone hoping to travel to the away leg.

Suppose....bellends

The whole Rangers/Celtic sectarianism bolloxs can do one - its perpetuated by utter helmets with nothing to live for except the bile that hatred produces

I would like Wolfsburg, the battle of the Wolves for the right to be called King of the Wolves would make it an interesting tie (at least from a media spin perspective!)
