Israel-Palestine

Nearly half of the air-to-ground munitions that Israel has used in Gaza in its war with Hamas since 7 October have been unguided, otherwise known as “dumb bombs”, a new US intelligence assessment says, according to a report by CNN.

The network’s report says:

The assessment, compiled by the office of the director of national intelligence and described to CNN by three sources who have seen it, says that about 40-45% of the 29,000 air-to-ground munitions Israel has used have been unguided. The rest have been precision-guided munitions, the assessment says.

Unguided munitions are typically less precise and can pose a greater threat to civilians, especially in such a densely populated area like Gaza. The rate at which Israel is using the dumb bombs may be contributing to the soaring civilian death toll.

So they do have weaponry that is sophisticated enough to target specific buildings/areas, but they're choosing not to do this.

There can be no doubt that this is genocide at this stage, they have no regard for innocent life.

It's not even as if the 'smart' bombs only kill terrorists either, all this 'human shield' bollocks is a pathetic defence for killing 20,000 people. If there was a gunman who's locked himself in a classroom with a bunch of kids, you wouldn't just bomb the classroom and say 'job done, gunman dead' ffs

Hamas can't win. Their reported actions have strengthened Israel's position. Israel have free reign to carry out any action they wish with apparent justification. It's a win-win for Israel, Hamas is weakened and we in 'The West' who are told by the media to 'support' Israel become more vulnerable (again).
I'm 'doubling down' on my 'weasel words' of October 11th.
It's not always nice to be proved right.

Well they're literally excusing it as "Israel's right to self defence" while giving it a token "obviously we'd prefer it if fewer civilians were killed, we'll have a little chat to them about that".

So neither party are backing the killing of civilians then.

Honestly, the situation is bad enough without people making stuff up to suit their own narrow view.

I'm not sure there's a lot between offering excuses and defence of the killing of 20,000 people, and explicitly backing it tbh.

Fair enough, he's not put a video out saying "I'm Rishi Sunak, and I endorse this genocide", and that might be enough for some people, but making excuses for the killings and not calling for a ceasefire right now is as good as it imo

And we are enabling and authorising the arms sales that are being used to kill civilians.

The irony of Johnny calling out others for having a narrow view is not lost on me.

Three Israeli hostages murdered by the IDF.

They were found waving a white flag and topless so clearly not wearing suicide vests. Soldier felt threatened by the sight of this, and opened fire.

First two were killed and the other, wounded, pleaded in Hebrew when they realised their 'mistake'

Think this was always coming with their indiscriminate ways, it's sparked further protests in Tel Aviv so could it be this which sways away from violence.

Clearly the current policy isn't working, even some Israeli's are turning against it.
It feels like the regime have decided that any collateral damage is acceptable and will only stop once most if not all Palestinians have been exterminated, if that costs even their own peoples lives.☹️

I don’t think it will surprise anyone that they aren’t bothered about taking prisoners when they can deal with a perceived problem in a more permanent manner.

So Israeli army accidentally shoots three Israeli hostages. And this provoked protests in Israel demanding the army be more intense in getting the hostages out and stop with all the being nice shit that has been soooo obvious recently.

Fucking odd.
