Is it just me??

I'm a pint half full kind of guy and always see the optism and positivity in life, including the club I have loved for over 40 years ish. But...Dendonker is awful, slow, offers very little etc etc. Yes, we need a striker, but from what I see, a quality MF is required. One to be the anchor in front of the back four, break play up, give it to Neves so he can dictate. We looked good going forward against Leeds but also weak in the middle of the park. Sorry to all Dendonkey lovers
No, not just you. Donk`s a bench warmer at best.

I don't see Donk as anything more than a squad / bench player at best. I don't see him being a good DM either as he doesn't really win many tackles or make many interceptions.

He does seem to have a knack for getting goal scoring opportunities, but doesn't seem able to put them away.

WOW, I thought this was a fans forum where opinions can be given?? If anyone gets offended by a nick name...FFS take a vacation and chill...shocking. Doubt I will post again as my opinion is more than frowned upon
You can have your opinion, what you don't have is the right to control replies.

Suck it up buttercup.

If you are going to make the ever so original Dendonkey gag, perhaps spell his name correctly earlier eh?

He was Ok yesterday, he's an alright 3rd CM option in a 4231 when like yesterday your first choice is missing.

We don't need the type of midfielder you say to play alongside Neves, we need one who can carry the ball to complement him. If we wanted a ball winner we'd have just signed Palhinha
Sorry Tony..he was shit

He’s a starting DM, I think. Problem is we don’t play him there.

Not for a top half premier league side imo. I agree it's his strongest position but the reason he's moved around so much is because he's not good enough to regularly start there.

If our midfield options are Neves, Nico, Moutinho and Donck he's a really solid 4th choice IMO (and can cover at centre back if we got really desperate).

I thought he was very good in the second half on Saturday. Shame about his miss before half time

He was awful in the first half, constantly coming towards the centre backs and playing passes back to them or the full backs which just invited pressure and obviously should have scored. Different player in the second half, won the ball back well, played more progressive passes and linked with RAN well during our best spell. I think he's the type of player that needs to be given exact instructions or he just seems to drift aimlessly around.

Yep. Martinez is no tactical genius but he tells him just to sit in front of the defence for Belgium and keep it simple and he looks fine doing it.

It's quite odd as in his first season he was excellent once he got in the team. Absolutely dominated Pogba twice in the space of a couple of weeks. Looked a decent finisher too. He's regressed.

Correct. Which is why you've got the replies you have. No-one is gonna get censored here.

Saying something silly and then playing the victim when you get called out for it will stand you in great stead. Welcome to the forum.

Just never seen a midfielder with his pedigree look so terrible on the ball. It’s like he’s never received it facing the wrong way in his life, which is where the “CB playing In midfield” comes from. Distribution even when he faces the right way is far too safe and he’s not even a superb “destroyer/snotter” to make up for those other flaws. Just a really strange player

Is anyone else worried about what is going on at WWFC? A fan for over 60 years - many ups and downs but now:

1. We have Coady going to Everton before Collins and Kiliman have proved themselves in a back four

2. Letting players go out on loan all over the place.

3. A manager who never makes changes during a game when we need to fight back

4. Sadly Jimenez is not going to be the player he was (so much hope I’m wrong) so we have at last bought a striker 36 goals in 180 + games for an average Spanish team.

I find Bruno post match interviews clueless and so no idea what he asks of our players.

I am already worried and we have 37 games left.

Last season we were lucky Sa had a stormer and kept so many clean sheets. The first goal on Sat should have been saved - we showed in the run in last year what happens if you ship goals and can’t score.

Please let me I’m wrong?

Plenty of us are concerned and have been for ages.

1. They're not a proven partnership but they both played well on Saturday, and Coady can't play in a back four. If we do go back to a three then we have other players who can do what he does

2. Most of them on loan wouldn't play anyway. Loaning out Fabio before we signed someone else was stupid, loaning rather than selling Giles/Sanderson isn't for me, but it's not life or death

3. Yeah, he's rubbish at that. He had nothing to bring on against Leeds though

4. I wouldn't write Raul off. I don't rate Guedes based on what I've seen but let's see

5. I'd have sacked Lage months ago, he does talk shite, he does babble on incoherently, I don't think he's a good manager at all but we are where we are. We need him to get points because making a change a month or two into a season is not good news and I have very little faith that we'd appoint someone who's better

6. Sa isn't what people think he is. He's quite often at fault for goals

If starting composing this and then DW pretty much summed up my thoughts but I’ll go with it anyway.

Yes

They’ll be fine. Even if they aren’t Coady isn’t the answer.
2. Letting players go out on loan all over the place.
Not had any issues with the business in this regard so far. Fabio needed the loan
3. A manager who never makes changes during a game when we need to fight back
Didn’t have much choice on Saturday. Hasn’t really shown any ability to turn things round though generally.
4. Sadly Jimenez is not going to be the player he was (so much hope I’m wrong) so we have at last bought a striker 36 goals in 180 + games for an average Spanish team.
I think he will be fine, the change in style can only help. We will know by January either way and can deal with it accordingly.

I find Bruno post match interviews clueless and so no idea what he asks of our players.
He doesn’t tend to make sense, but managers talk utter nonsense in interviews even if what they say is grammatically and linguistically correct, so I’m not that bothered. Just makes him harder to warm to I guess.

He tends to throw a few in and give away stupid pens. No idea how he got away with the one at the weekend. But he let in a howler, made a worldy save, swept up well so guess net positive?
