Hearing rumours of a huge selection surprise today!

TIOLAIKND

It would have to be pretty fucking huge to break through the utter apathy and ennui.

I'd smash him on the forehead with a sixteen pound sledgehammer and then I'd say, go on then ...say something philosophical.

Too defensive with coady and saville together IMO

With every game that passes it's more and more obvious Mason was a panic buy. Selection is uninspiring but I remain hopeful of at least a point.

And Price in between them as well to make a midfield three in front of the back four, with a second left back sneaked in there for good luck.

Yeah, I mean, he's never looked like a £3m player - it always felt like panicking and splashing out on a reliable striker for this level who'd normally be squad backup at best (like getting Le Fondre on loan at the start of the season) rather than expecting the new Afobe or Dicko or whatever.

I understand getting frustrated that he isn't getting gametime but, honestly, I still haven't seen much of anything to make me think he'd bring much to the table over what's already in the first XI.

Mason wasn't a panic buy, we wanted him in the Summer. Whether he was a Jackett buy is a completely different question

I think we'd have waited until we could have got a better price, though - provided it's actually what we paid, £3m feels like something you pay for a player like Mason when you don't have a choice.

The noise coming out of Cardiff was £1.6m up front the rest in add ons. If Jackett has had a say in our signings this year it's been minimal, look at how he has used Byrne, Wallace and Mason.
