Ipswich 3-2 Wolves Verdict Thread

Just on the way back now and i’d sack him tonight after that.
Fair play slink. What was the travelling support like?

Any dissent towards the board, bench or players?

Presuming “Gary O’Neil’s Barmy Army” is getting sung quieter and quieter.

“ A lot was wrong”
No Gaz there’s a hell of a lot more wrong now
Lop left you with the basis of something to build on.

More creating a club in disarray narrative. The Summer under Lopetegui was a mess, but we didnt sack him, he didn't go because the on field situation was fucked, but O'Neill says this in every interview and doubles down harder in the next.
It’s comments like this which really change my view on him.

Never felt he was right for the job, but wasn’t as against him as others, and willing to give him a chance etc

Don’t think he’s a cunt, have no illwill against him, but when he comes out with tripe like this.

Things behind the scenes weren’t right,
However as pre season showed, the team was in good shape, well, decent shape anyway.

It’s becoming a massive worry

Just over 1900 here. Was positive when we were 2-0 up. Plenty of dissent in the second half though when it was clear we were tactically outclassed again.

Lots of booing during and after the game. Chants of “you don’t know what you’re doing” and “gary make a sub” when he had already made 3, think they wanted a good sub. He didn’t come and clap the fans either, shook the players hands but nothing towards the fans. Hwang rightly clapped off and the last player to leave the pitch.

Things aren't right behind the scenes because Shi and co have spent the last few years shitting over everything that was good about our rise from the Championship to Europe.

Why does GON think he came in in the middle of the season when he was manager for our first game? :D

The comments on the judah tweet are a lot more negative/realistic than I expected, almost unanimously want him gone

He's going to slowly go on a Nathan Jones-style downward trajectory now, only with less God/Luton references

Waiting for his pals at Talkshite to tell us he needs more time.

Fucking excuse me???

Get him gone NOW.

I'm not going to get too wound up by the result because I wasn't that fussed whether we won or lost. But to give up a 2-0 lead to a team in the league below is bad, really bad. But then we already know he is a substandard coach. He might be better at managing the squad but tactically O'Neil seems to be worse than Lage.

Making out like he inherited a mess and trying to pass the blame on to Lopetegui is what is actually annoying me. If anything he inherited pretty favourable circumstances compared to your typical manager. Only culture this amateur is changing is ripping out the last shreds of ambition in the club that didn't leave alongside Lopetegui.

He's got number 2 at best written all over him; no gravitas, no experience, no pedigree, no clue. The players who haven't already sussed him out will be catching up very quickly.

You can see why he blew Hobbs away

I’m willing to give Hobbs a little grace here as it appears the “unemployed Brit” thing was Shi’s idea and there are plenty of folks out there who are better at interviews than the actual jobs they’re attached to.
