If you could change 1 moment from Wolves history

The moment Jeff Shi hiked up the prices for season tickets.

One thing that did hurt us was the absolute state of Molineux by the end of the 80s. So while Ewood and St James's were dated and would need updating at some point, those two could get by with leaving that to start with and chucking all the money at the team. We HAD to do something with the ground first, it was a disaster.

Maybe coughing up the money for Alex Ferguson to come manage us, he probably wouldn’t have done the job like he did at United, but who knows?

Putting Jonathan Hayward in charge of the school tuck shop would’ve been a bad idea let alone a senior at a football club

Great stuff on that from @Law's Bus

That’s a great read, I started going in the late 80’s so the early days of the long road to recovery.
The stories, rumours and conspiracies were still rife at the times about the previous 7-8 years.
My Grandad always said it was like the club didn’t exist in the 84/85 & 85/86 seasons.
Going to games in the late 80’s early 90’s gave you a glimpse of the state of the ground as it use to be, amazed two sides were only condemned after the Bradford fire disaster.
Car park at the back of the North bank was a gravel pit, club shop was a little Portable cabin behind the North Bank.
South bank stunk of urine or horse crap most the time to.

Sideshow Bob not flying headbutting Raul would be mine.

Persuading Peter Knowles that he could be both a professional footballer and a Witness.

Not as dramatic as others, but the loss in the semi's of the Sherpa Van Trophy to Torquay at home
I went to school the following day and remember crying in Math class and English class and pretty much the whole day!!

I don't think much would have changed if Silva hadn't been thrust into the first team when he was. Even when he had to play because of Rauls injury, to begin with the fans were patient with him on the whole, I don't think anyone expected a crazy output from him. Even if a player like that isn't ready to play week in week out at that level you can usually see glimpses in the things they do, showing what they could become. I still don't really know any area where he stands out and that hasn't changed in 4 years since his signing.

I'm not so sure. Similarly Fraser getting thrown in didn't appear to help him, he looked less and less confident with every game he played.

Buying Alex Rae instead of Darren Ferguson

I'm sure these two things don't overlap but in my mind they do!

1988 was my start. No MOTD, fewer than 20 live games on ITV per season, loads of grounds looked like shit when they were on TV so I never knew any better. Went to old Wembley in 1989 and that was also horrible, just big.

But realistically we had one crumbling massive terrace and one big but basic stand miles from the pitch. Awful!

Went to some awful grounds as I got older, a long list of shockers but the Manor Ground always wins that contest, the deathtrap shithole.

When you get the yoot talking about how great it must have been compared to modern grounds, er no lads, it wasn't, it was rubbish.

I hate identikit crap like Reading which has the bonus of being in the middle of nowhere but at least you know you won't die.
