At bloody right-back too. Also in 1994/95 if first Peter Shirtliff then John de Wolf don't get injured then I think we go up.
Instead we had the indignity of still playing Paul Blades.
I agree. John Richard’s hitting the post still haunts me today…….Cup Semi -Final v Dirty Leeds at Maine Road. We only conceded one goal in that cup run and it knocked us out at that stage. Still fucking hate Bremner.
Lineker was a done deal for £150k the Summer following the Bhattis taking over 1983, along with MM and Seaman. Surprisingly the money didn't turn up.I've heard over the years we were close to signing
Maradona
Lineker
Platini
Boniek
No idea how much truth there is in any of them.
Also heard we close McGhee over O'Neill but no idea if total bollocks or not.
Didn’t we come very close to signing Jarrod Bowen from Hull? Could of been a great signing for us.

I preferred a pint of Smith's and a bag of coke tbh...Going as kid it wasn’t very user friendly only enjoyable factor was the football and maybe a pre match bovril. Standing the pub drinking a coke and bag of smiths wasn’t much fun either. My experience in the late 90’s as teenager was far more enjoyable still affordable, better facilities etc
Platini and Peter Reid were close under Barnwell before the board pulled the plug. Boniek was close too.I've heard over the years we were close to signing

Think Jason Roberts. We did of course basically sign Ivan Toney in 2014, then pulled the plug at the last minute.
It took years for him to actually turn any good though so he'd probably have just spent his entire contract out on loan before joining a L1 team on a free.
Actually a draw would have been enough for Wolves to win the 1st Division (on goal average) which would have meant 3 consecutive titles. One for the other oldies - Burnley lost at Manchester City
