Huddersfield 1 - Wolves 4 verdict thread

So did it end up being a 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1?

Alan, it was definitely 4-2-3-1 with VLP, Afobe and Sako quite fluid in their interchange of position.
We were very good going forwards and pretty solid in defence

Sounds like a true counter attacking style, would that be fair?

Pretty much Johnny although there were periods where we dominated possession the way we did at the start of the season building slowly from the back.

Credit to Jackett for dropping Edwards. Wasn't sure he'd make that decision.

Hope he keeps it up :D

It was this time last year that the team really clicked and we achieved some extremely impressive form over the rest of the season. Fingers crossed we finally manage to close the 3+/-1 point gap between us and sixth that's been there since December.

Rajiv involved in every goal.

Rajiv involved in every goal.

Except the last one where Price wins it, Afobe passes it and Dicko scores. And the corner for the second one which Sako took and their guy thundered it in.

I think he frustrates everyone because the crosses he has put for goals vs Norwich, Wigan, Reading are excellent so we know the quality is there, but it only comes off about 1 in 8 (which I suppose is why he plays at this level). Hopefully he can start putting it together a bit more consistently because it'd be great to have two genuine threats out wide to go with what I think are two excellent forwards for this division.

Oops, definitely thought that was him on the fourth.

I know we still had to score them, which we did well, but those were four awful goals to concede. Can't say our defence looked too impressive for theirs, either.

So did I at the time!

I thought he played really well yesterday, probably the best I've seen him play barring his debut vs Norwich. The assist for the first goal was superb, what's that 7or 8 assists now? Not bad for a guy with no end product.

I love the way PIG starts to walk towards Sako ( I think!) who lost the ball thinking it had gone out then seems to think better of it!

Poor from Sako on their goal. Takes the ball on to the touchline, it looks like it's out (and the crowd seems to think it is) but he keeps going, then their player nicks in and takes it off him and suddenly he stops and raises his hands towards the linesman in a "why isn't he flagging for a throw-in now I don't have the ball?" gesture. Should've been tracking back instead.

Doherty and Batth don't look like they had any idea where the Huddersfield players near them were actually standing, either.

The guy at the front who falls over when the second goes in. :icon_lol:

I actually think Doherty is to blame once the ball goes into the box.

He's nowhere near his Vaughan (or anybody else really). Shame as I thought that he actually had a decent game, even if he did struggle with Scannell and Bunn at times.
