General Wolves News

Dunno what you're all getting your knickers in a twist about, that team even with Doc, Irwin and Ince is 100% better than what we can put out on Saturday.
Meaningless though isn't it. Anyone who wanted to take a silly positive spin would say "well Munetsi might be rubbish but he's considerably better than Mark Rankine" or "say what you want about Hwang, but who remembers Frank Nouble". So what?

The point is that this clown has somehow wangled a mainstream (BBC!) "voice of the fans" spot and he clearly hasn't got a clue what he's on about. This isn't a difference of opinion point that you might legitimately have, like who do you favour as a LWB, Jonny or Rayan Ait-Nouri*. He's picking blatantly stupid choices that stand up to zero scrutiny. Like in those positions, Doherty and Irwin haven't played 30 Premier League games between them for Wolves, leaving aside anything else? Paul Ince wasn't even our best central midfielder in the one Premier League season he played for us, and that wasn't a very tight contest either, it was Alex Rae by marathon distance of miles.

*Jonny, all day long. He was superb. But I equally wouldn't deride anyone who picked RAN

Yeah of course it's a daft thing, he clearly only started watching Wolves around the Nuno times. Not much to wound up about for me.
Obviously he deserves all the stick he gets for Doc over Boly or Munro and that era Irwin/Ince over Parkin/RAN/Froggatt/Jonny.
Bailey/Rae/Gomes.
It all just made me laugh tbh.

Its Premier league though isn't it.

He obviously didn't want to look like a Johnny come lately so clearly chucked in Irwin and Ince on their reputation more than anything else.

The correct answer would have just been the Nuno XI for the majority of our first Premier League season, and he still could have included Doc at RWB with minimal complaint.

Very similar to how Nick Loftus used to be the 'Wolverhampton' voice of the fans back in the 90's. England and Wolves games every article on the Sun. He played for Wolverhampton Casuals [decent player to be fair] so didn't even go to Saturday/some midweek games.

Having the words “West Bromwich” printed on anything to do with our club is just taking this piss.

Christ that's a name from the past. He was my PE teacher and football coach at school

This is getting a lot of traction on SM. I can’t read it, though. It says it’s age restricted and you need an account to verify so sod that (unless I’m missing something obvious).

He makes a few good points but hes also thrown in a fair amount of hyperbole

- they'll asset strip us and close us down
- never known darker times
- vague "my source says"

Both are demonstrably untrue as anyone can attest who was here in 2012/13 or going further back to the mid 80's.

I do think direct action is needed by supporters though but pieces like this can end up doing more harm than good.
