General Wolves News

I will never understand why it bothers these bigoted cunts so much. But any post like this acts like the Bat signal to these twats.

"It ay got nuffin to do wiv football"

Outlandish suggestion here - but why don't you not go to the Pride event if you feel this way?

It’s morbidly interesting to me that religion seems much less core to UK society than US society, yet the homophobia feels much the same.

It's not. Think of of it like the hatred of Cunha. If Twitter is your barometer he'll get stoned walking into the ground tomorrow, the reality is if he scores his name will be sang and he won't be booed at any point

Struggling with this analogy if I’m honest.

Certainly there is a lot of “stick to sports” sentiment over here when that sort of thing comes up with athletes. Much as it did with Colin Kaepernick on the racial side of the coin.

It’s definitely not getting better but of all the countries I’ve been to the UK is one of the most tolerant. In general life you would be very unlikely to experience homophobia. Almost the total opposite to my experience in the US.

Yeah, homophobia past the age of about 14 and before the age of 50 is fairly strange really.

My generation was conditioned to me homophobic, I can't shy away from that. Look at the way AIDS was portrayed when I was in my teens for the wider context, I was a product of that environment and being straight followed that upbringing, I think you'd find very few who didn't. I went to a High School with 300 in my year and by 16 not one was outwardly gay and that was for a reason. Some people of my generation and older grow and mature, some don't.

If I look at my kids though there might be pockets where that's still prevalent, it's not the norm though in most cultures and in my experience people aren't persecuted by the vast majority of that generation. I don't think that's the case in large areas of the US

We’re generally moving in a good direction with that stuff (I know it probably doesn’t seem like it at the moment); sounds as if y’all are maybe two generations “ahead” of us in progress. Hopefully we follow that example.

It’s definitely been an experience to hear how my niece and nephew think about that stuff. Certainly miles different than during my school days, which was almost exactly aligned with Tony’s description.

It's still 64% (minimum) more expensive than it was in 2018.

There's no congratulating them on prices, they're a disgrace. They were a disgrace in July and they're a disgrace now. I've just paid £48.50 to watch a nothing end-of-season game tomorrow, now that's on me, that's my choice, I can afford it, it is ridiculous money though.

The replies are negative, which is good.

I'm in Orlando at the moment. The Lion King has just started playing. I quite fancied going along. Matinee performance at 1pm tomorrow... cheapest ticket $140.00 for a seat in the God's. #perspective

Do you think that's comparable?

It’s a bit like boasting about getting 40% on your dissertation. It’s the absolute bare minimum that they should’ve done to repair the gradual damage that’s been done to the fanbase.
Since promotion they’ve eroded the fanbase by pricing hikes, done it gradually whilst at the same time screwing over the quality of the squad. In no other industry would you get away with it long term.
I’m sure most on here have noticed it but if not take a look at the demographics of the fans tomorrow and it won’t take long to realise it’s very top heavy.

Didn't they announce this last summer and present it as a u-u-turn
They committed to adult tickets staying the same. OAP and kids ones staying the same is new news. I wouldn't commend them for it, but I am pleasantly surprised
