General Wolves News

Kilman only played there against Southampton in the second half. He did alright next to Boly from what I can remember.

Agree with PrawnKing on him though. I think Swansea would be a good place for him to go and play every week. Similar defensive system that would suit him if we did let him move on (or go on loan)

Personally I think Kilman is far better than Bennett, he's solid defensively and far more accomplished with the ball at his feet.
Kilman isn't going anywhere. You can see what Nuno is doing. Signing up a core of the side till 2025. Kilman, Coady, Neto, Jonny, Donk and Jimenez so far. Adama and Neves next. Podence is already on a long contract, and so is Semedo. Not sure if Boly will get a 4 year contract. Maybe a 2 year one to keep him here for a bit longer.

Agreed, he has the ability to be an excellent left centre back, but he does need games to develop.
Is that at Wolves though?

I know he's had an unconventional route into PL football, and I'm by no means writing him off, but I don't see him excelling in matches in a way that encourages me to strongly believe he can develop into the answer for where we want to be. He's solid but I'd be surprised if even this time next year we aren't starting to outgrow him.

Nuno has got talkative recently. Like he's had a few pints in the pub and you can't shut him up!

or we are playing loads of games and it means he is having to do 2 press conference a week...

It's amazing how many stories/articles can be created from a 30 min chat with a manager

The getting games bit? That’s up to Nuno tbh. If he’s not going to make him a consistent starter then he should be leaving permanently or going on loan.

i think he has the ability to be a regular for a top six side, he needs to fill out a bit, but he’s excellent at compressing space, has good control in tight spaces which works well for a side being pressed and uses the ball well. Obviously he’s a tall guy, so if he fills out should have the ability to do well in the air, and his reading of the game is good.

he’s not particularly physical, but that can change - and he’s not quick which won’t change - but he has the potential to be a very good centre back.

Personally think Adama and Neves are the most likely to leave.

Kilman is 24 in May, so the talk of development and 'filling out' doesn't have as much weight as if we're talking about Fabio or Hoever IMO.

He's only three years younger than Coady

I think he's filled out enough, the pear shaped lump that he is.

He's borderline PL quality, he will make a career, I don't think it'll be at Wolves.

Kilman is fine in a 3 for me. Does a job and he's a tidy footballer but not going to be a long term top 6 centre back. As a 2 i'm not having him at all for us, he's not mobile or aggressive enough. Shouldn't be loaning him out either, the lads 24 soon and if he's not going to be good enough then what is the point. Let him find a club where he can settle and have a career which would end up being better for him and us. He could prove me wrong and take a step up but can't see it at the moment.

Kilman is a solid choice and needed just now - pretty sure that he doesn't have that much more growth so not a longer term answer as a CB for us.

Get to the summer & if we can sign another real option then it might be time for him to leave - he is good enough to have a career in a mid table PL side.

They both have 2 years left on their contracts, but imo they will stay till 2025. And for more than just on the pitch reasons.

I’d be happy to see Adama leave and get a player who can play with others in.

Don’t want to be losing Neves, we need to build the team around him.

Agree but he's been here 4 years now, wouldn't be surprised if he moved in the next 2 seasons. With João 35 soon and out of contract at the end of next season there could be a lot of upheaval in that position.

News on financial standing of Fosun and Chinese organisations with overseas activities in general.

For their part, Fosun's position has recovered somewhat according to reports

- which may have some bearing on transfer spending (FFP notwithstanding).

Clearly part of a wider issue though as, from the slightly less scientific pages of Popbitch, it reports there is a real risk that Inter Milan (owned by Suning) could go bust.

Big trouble in literal China
Football hacks in Italy are starting to quietly discuss something that isn't being said openly, but would hit the world of sport like an earthquake if it happens: that European giants Inter Milan might go bust.

Chinese owners Suning's retail empire has suffered this year, to the extent that they've given back the rights to showing Premier League football in China, and haven't paid players at Inter or their Chinese Super League club, Jiangsu Suning, for months. Last year's transfer fees - like those for Romelu Lukaku and Christian Eriksen - are still being negotiated.

Private equity giants BC partners recently offered 750M but were rebuffed and are believed to have walked away. Current owners and management are reluctant to relinquish control while Inter are still in the hunt for the league championship.

If they wait too long though, the legacy they leave might be demotion to Serie D.
