Jiminez? Come on Alan, I expected better... ;-)

My take on the lost in translation - It is not a buy back clause but an early buy clause we wanted and that was set to 26 games. They still have the obligation to pay the 16m for him next summer, regardless of hitting that 26 game mark

Rui, Ruben and Joao start for Portugal tonight.

Rui back in goal too (didn't play the last two games for unknown reasons, other than Fernando Santos is a tit).

Adama on the bench for Spain.

Raul starting for Mexico vs Holland

Adama just come on for his debut. Cue lots of jokes about playing against his club team.

Bit shit that Neves had to play the full 90 in a friendly whilst Bruno Fernandes sat on his arse all game staying fresh for the weekend.

Never try to work out what Ross's Dad from Friends is thinking, he's such a shit, shit manager. Portugal could sweep the lot if they had someone better in charge.

He's still picking Pepe FFS.

International management is weird, we have Southgate who would struggle to get a top half PL job, Deschamps is an absolute fool (Laporte STILL doesn't have a cap!), as I say Santos is rubbish, Löw should have been sacked on at least two occasions but he's still there, Frank de Boer has just got the Dutch gig and his recent record at club level is beyond woeful, Martinez is in charge of the #1 ranked team in the world and well, I've seen his teams play...

And a footballing dinosaur in charge of our U21s.

I guess international management is a bit of a dead end, and not the pinnacle of achievement it may have been.

That or maybe most decent club positions pay more than most of the national associations do

It's true, I don't think in a million years that Nuno would swap Wolves for Portugal.

Before his latest deal Nuno and Southgate were on broadly the same, so you can assume more than half the PL managers earn more than him

I think because they are coaches rather than simply the old school managers these days a factor must be that they don't get the day to day work with the players that they want to do.
