General Wolves News

I like them both from what I can see of them in those sneak shots. Looking forward to seeing the official photography at launch day.

They both look pretty good. I love a black away top.

After this season's home kit was so awesome I expected the new one to be awful for some reason. I can't wait to see them properly next week.

What's the red and white kit in the background? Euro 3rd? A reboot of the fabled* 09/10 Sporting Bet shirt?

Edit to point out I'm a huge v-neck fan

*terrible

Why are betting companies so prominent? Can other companies not keep up with the $? Probably a dumb question but I often wonder

Normally they are South East Asian, the PL offers massive audiences out there so they pay more. Our last two sponsors don't have a UK operation

I guess it's because tobacco is banned, alcohol sponsorship has strict rules and therefore betting is the last vice that has coin to spend on footy advertising.

Betting companies probably have the most to gain from football fans.

Best way for Chinese betting companies to advertise as betting logos on shirts are banned in China so with the Premier League being huge there they sponsor English shirts to gain the exposure

Yeah, much as we'd all like Thomas Cook to sponsor us, betting companies have more direct relevance to the average football fan...

Not sure what to think of the new kits. Can't be worse than Benfica away though.

Still debating if I should buy any kit this year. Got 3, 2 Wolves and 1 Benfica, from last season :')

E&S reporting that we are including a hotel in the ground redevelopment on the site of the old Peal house.

Also some sort of vague reference to a new link into the city. Would make sense to include a hotel in the development, also an odd reference to the council wanting one after the stalling of the westside development.

No quotes from the club, this looks like the exclusive has come from the council, who would appear to be using the Club as a private investor in the City to get what they want

Man City's owners have regenerated that area of Manchester so perhaps Fosun are happy to do similar

I dont know what city did, I understand the stadium was in a shitehole end of town left to them from Commonwealth games. Did they buy up land and build the training ground adjacent from memory?

No private developer is 'happy' to spend money with no return. Seems bad form this 'exclusive' as theres nothing from the club

Building hotels for franchisees is pretty much a guaranteed return year on year though, pretty good location too with good access.

Market factors and all that, I remember the E&S getting their knickers in a twist about Hilton building on the old Fox site, I dont think they realised that Hampton by Hilton is a somewhat more budget chain.

They keep on mentioning the Univeristy, but I thought Morgan got rid of their interest in the immediate land surrounding the ground.

The university land ends at what used to be the Feathers which is some faculty building now. However, if we shut Jack Hayward way after the ASDA for building works there would be access issues for the University which they would have to be consulted about I guess.
