General Wolves News

Got a lot of time to make up as he hadnt been able to moan about anything for a while

Absolutely no evidence that I can see that W88 was bought by ManBetX.

Even if that were the case, the existing contract wouldn’t necessarily come to an end. Wolves would simply say “following their merger, we’ll now have this logo...”.

Unless the club is outright lying to us, this is clearly a new deal.

I can't see anywhere that the club have said that ManBet have bought out W88... “We had the opportunity to work with a new principal partner for the 2019/20 season and we felt that the scale and ambition of ManBetX was closely aligned to ours - I’m confident we can achieve great things in what is Wolves’ largest ever sponsorship deal.

What are the club outright lying about?

"Wolves exercised a break clause with existing sponsor W88, also a betting company, to end their deal after only one season in order to pursue a more lucrative partnership. The previous deal with W88, also a record when signed, was reportedly worth UK£5 million per year."

Maybe they’ve signed NDAs...

I was told over a week ago about ManBetX (Sone on here can confirm), I was told at the same time the reason was ManBetX have bought W88. Perhaps only half the information was correct, but I guess there is definitely something in it.

Does it really matter how it’s come about? Sounds like they are giving us more money so happy days.

Whether that’s a built in rise, renegotiated deal or brand new deal doesn’t really matter

I would like to think that with European football we have got a deal on a par with West Ham at £10m per season. As the current deal is £5m that is all extra Bunce for the wage limit calculation. Happy days indeed.

Is it just me,or is the first line of the article grammatically wrong? It just seems to be badly written

Yeah, should be "have sat" instead of "has sat".

If that value is true, Wolves is getting more from the new sponsor than Benfica gets from Emirates.

Which is normal, but the small amount Portuguese clubs get is still surprising

Hope these new seats are the soft type the North Bank wimps got. They're much nicer for my old bones.
