General Wolves News

Who is?

The club is saying FFP was an issue, that was continually called as bollocks and an excuse in the summer.
It was part truth (for 23/24) part bullshit. Once Neves was sold for a fee above our expectations. the FFP problem had all but gone. Turning down a 100% profit of £30m+ for Kilman proved that.
It was a cashflow issue which solved itself with the sale of Nunes as we suddenly started spending like a man who hadn't bought anything at 1pm on Christmas Eve.

I think it was the extent of the FFP issues that was being questioned. Remember at one point we had sold a load, inc top end fee for Neves and had signed Doc and King for £0. So that's where I think a lot of people were.

We will see when these figure comes out how close we were I guess.

Nope, we made £64m profit last summer on player trading, including Nunes.

Edit - Mainly because Cunha was made permanent last summer. Depends when you put that fee as going off the books.
How many times does it need to be said that purchases are amortised over the length of the contract and not all in one go?

Your figures are wildly out.

You need to listen to the Newcastle Chief Exec yesterday to understand the difference between a club who has an FFP issue because of the need to comply with the rules and one who has a cashflow / investment problem.

I'd imagine that Villa are/will be in a very similar scenario.

That is kind of the position Forest are in (the sale being Brennan J).
Well yeah and that’s a farce. Sale as we could have overspent last January to try and ensure. knew we were selling Neves, Nunes and whoever else we sold

Once Neves was sold and the club was made savings on his wages plus those of Jimenez, Traore and Moutinho any FFP compliance was effectively resolved, despite that the club continued banging the FFP drum and it was rightly called bollocks.

Neves left on June 23rd.

Teams remaining under FFP pressure don't turn down €35m for a player and quibble over €5m.

The genuine panic on some Facebook feeds about a points deduction is quite something.
Just point out to them if we were in big trouble or sailing close to the wind then a lot of well known journalists would be all over it way before now.

And we wouldn’t have bought Bellegarde and Santi or bid for Dia.

When are the figures released. Thought it was this weekend ?

Never ever look at Wolves Facebook groups, they are home to the worst takes in the world.

Unless you really want to read about how we should sign Jesse Lingard on a pay-as-you-play deal (NB - such a deal has never existed in the history of football)
