General Wolves News

That's a very good article. Actual writing from the Walsall fan.

That’s a couple of articles he’s posted recently that I’ve fancied reading. Maybe I should sign up for the £1 subscription.

Hugo Bueno has signed a new contract at Wolves until 2028, with the option to extend it by a further year.

Serious interest in Hugo Bueno from RB Leipzig in the summer according to Matt Hobbs.

Go to be honest, I'm not sold on Bueno but he must be highly rated if clubs like RB Leipzig are sniffing around (I'm sure there were rumours about Newcastle as well at one point).

You know I'm sold on him. I think he's superb, and if we stay with a wing back system I think he'll really fly.

I'd rather keep RAN, sell Hugo and then buy a cheaper solid backup. Even Cresswell would do.

Sell Sasa as well and bring in Jordan Rhodes.

Bueno didn't cost us £15m, and his minor support role can be covered by Toti. It'd be pure profit for Bueno and Cresswell would be cheap cover and another home grown addition. Also I doubt anyone would be offering us a huge profit on what we paid for Sasa.

A better comparison would be selling Bentley for £15m and buying another cheap goalkeeper.

I'm not saying I'd definitely sell him, but I could see how the club would see it as a big FFP profit on a young kid who hasn't played loads and only cost £3000, and is cheaply replaceable.

I really like Bueno but we seem to have found a perfect role for Ait-Nouri at the moment that Hugo wouldn’t be able to do so until we change the system a bit it’s hard to see him getting much of a look in.

Hugo is home grown when he's old enough to have to be named.

Leaving aside that we obviously aren't going to sell someone who's just been handed a five year deal, Aaron Cresswell is 34 in a couple of weeks and wouldn't be anywhere near fit for purpose in this system. RAN is also away with Algeria in January and possibly into February.

AFCON is a good point but we wouldn't be selling Hugo until next summer.

Selling Bueno would be silly, unless the offer were equally so.

He seems a good lad and he more or less holds up at Prem level. Not the sort of player I'm itching to be shot of.

Or have two quality players for one position giving the manager the ability to have cover in case of suspensions, injury or lack of form and also allowing both to be at peak levels for shorter periods by being able to substitute either for the other during a game.

You don't have that with Cresswell, the drop off in quality and athleticism is huge
