General Wolves News

Maybe he wanted to stay? He said in that preseason interview that he had been waiting for a chance to show what he could do at Wolves and felt like he'd finally got it. Could be that he knows it's a tall order for him to break into the first team proper but it's probably the last/only chance he's got to have a go at it at this level.

If someone at the club told him that he was going to get a chance to “show what he can do”, they ought to be ashamed for lying to the guy. He won’t be on the pitch for five minutes this season.

Saturday afternoon isn't his only opportunity to prove his worth. He said himself in the interview it was the first summer he's spent entirely with the first team at Wolves, you can see how that can be perceived as an opportunity without someone in management definitively saying such.

Not sure the need to dig at the club about an issue that's completely fabricated, there's absolutely no indication Ronan is unhappy about anything.

Ronan seemed happy to actually have the chance in pre-season. After every loan he’s always rather ambitiously said he wants to make it here still. I reckon he’ll leave in January/next summer anyway. With Cundle out on loan it works for us just in an absolutely emergency too

23. Completely forgot about the RB and would never have got the CM

Don't blame him for wanting to ensure he at least is able to say "I did everything I could to make it there" rather than have a niggling regret.

If nothing else he will always have the moment KdB was so impressed by him he hunted him down (not a hard hunt, just had to find the away dressing room) to speak with him and swap shirts

He might not be actively unhappy but he's just not going to play is he? He is 5th choice for the position. He didn't even get picked for the cup game.

He isn't but to presume he is sat on our bench because the management team have decided it for him is a leap only made because the management team are deemed shit and to blame for everything.

Essentially he will have 3 months of watching football and if he wants to get out of town, he has that chance in January and I would suggest if he says "I want to go", the club will make it happen and I think they would have made that happen over the summer as well if he had asked.

Big paraphrase, but essentially Lage said he had his chance in the Summer but he was a bit shit. The rest is just the sort of thing any manager would say if a player is going to be around the squad for the next 4 months

I can't believe I am doing this, but I feel that comment is a little unfair on Lage, with the potential for a bit of projection - I do find it interesting how we can see different things in the same articles!
When I read it, I though Lage comes across as better than when he was digging out Hoever last season. I also felt it came across like the management team had been impressed with Ronan and suggested he may have a chance. However Ronan felt the pressure of this a bit, and this affected his performances. The management team then spoke with him to encourage he calms down/relaxes, and shows his true potential.
When I read the article, I wondered if Lage had actually learned something and/or progressed from the instances last year when he seemed to have digs at players.

It's all just manager speak, I wasn't having a dig at Lage just paraphrasing what I saw as the gist. He's 5th choice in CM it's not inconceivable he'll need him so has to be somewhat positive

23. Missed your favourite (shockingly) and didn’t get the other one I assume you’re on about as I couldn’t spell it.
