General Wolves News

When we've had several successful tours of the US this will be known as the Louisville blip

Jeez. End of season piss up in a brewery next to be cancelled due to complexities in delivery.

I have been to several breweries and none of them made it particularly easy to get access to the product they make, and that is always what I think of when people mention this.

I did get ruined in the bar at the Heineken tour though, so at least they have solved that problem as that was technically within the brewery.

Just realised there's no End of Season Dinner & Awards this year?

Reasonable enough article from Spiers, but he couldn’t go without trying to defend Sellers.

Not sure why we think Ruddy is going to leave to play more often. Seems to have been said on repeat for 3 seasons and it still hasn’t happened.

He’s a 35 year old keeper who hasn’t played with any regularity in 4 seasons, he’s pretty much unemployable as a starter. Even if he was going to a club “to play”, it would be at a level where he’d probably be on a fifth of what he’s on now. So think he’s only going to leave when we say we don’t want him, or he can get a better role as a backup somehere else.

Sarkic probably the only one who has enough experience to oust him. Probably a lot cheaper too
😘

In all seriousness, no idea where he’s actually going to go. I’m assuming another backup somehere in the PL or maybe the Scott Carson/Lonergan role.

Ruddy is expensive for what he does and we can't trust him any more when he plays (I'm amazed how much that Norwich goal in the cup went under the radar), not sure why the 'optics' are bad there - I very much doubt Lage was that bothered about keeping him. Sarkic is 25 before the start of the season, is a full international and was doing well in the Championship before he got injured. He's not some untested kid. He can do that job for less money and we already own him.

It's noticeable with Ruddy just how much of a statue he is in his own box. Barely ever moves.

Definitely time to move him on.

And there is a bit of trouble right there. 25 year old that has a player of the season award in the bag isn't going to want to sit on the bench even at Premier League level. Ambition would see me at that age want first team starts from August..

The acid test for any back up keeper is if the first choice was out for say, six games, would you be comfortable playing the #2. Like you know it's going to be a downgrade, that's a given by its nature, but it's not going to be a massive worry heading into every game. I can't say that is the case with 2022's John Ruddy.

Well we decided to renew our memberships. Hadn't realised I had some 'cash' so mine came in at £33.90 including p & p.
Whether it turns out to be value for money? Dunno, will decide that in a few months time I guess.

Wolves are reportedly set to present a legal complaint against Sao Paulo winger Marquinhos.

It was said that #WWFC had agreed a pre-contract with the 19 year old who is now set to join Arsenal. The club have hired a law firm in Brazil to start a formal process.

Plenty of time to edit. Doubt they will though.

I'm willing to bet a million pounds/a weekly food shop, that it tracks beautifully a couple of years behind relative on field success.
