General Wolves News

Charlotte not being on the list makes me sad, but I understand.
Kind of the wrong direction I'm afraid. Plan is to get to Atlanta and turn right not left - although Athens appeals if there is anything REMy there.

Not being to the South before (if you exclude Florida), the obvious bigger cities on the East and West coasts + Chicago...looking forward to it

I'll let you know on Athens. I am doing an REM pilgrimage.

A few things I am visiting such as Wuxtry Record Shop, what's left of the Church they lived in, 40 Watt Club and off to eat at Weaver D's. A small diner where the owners line after ordering is Automatic for the People. REM ate there most days and asked if they could use the phrase for an album name.

Gutted though that the remains of a rail bridge, used on the Murmur album and part of the Murmur Trail has been torn down.

Someone in the media team clearly had a "great idea" for a St. George's Day thing, without actually bothering to think it through.

"So lads and lassies, I know, for St. George's Day, we'll celebrate Englishness by having photos of four people called George around a St. George's cross". "That's a great idea, let's do it!"

Then they pick...
Tammi George (yep, that's OK)
George Elokobi (Cameroon international)
George Berry (Welsh international)
George Ndah (Nigeria call-up).

Surely they could have thought of four English people called George if they went through with it?

Noel George
Can't have George Saville as he plays for Norn Iron now
Jorge Mendes :D

I don't think we do have many.

George Friend is the only other fairly recent one I can think of.

George Worrall, first club secretary when the team was picked by committee.

St George slayed a dragon right? Surely Rubens free kick or Ruddy's penalty save work for this 😂

Seeing how West Ham are offering Rice for £150 million, how much would Neves be worth ? surely closer to £100 million than £40 million.
hopefully the club are committed to keeping him and price him accordingly if approached.

West Ham are just saying that. They’ve basically said they aren’t selling him this season and would take a stupid offer (£150m) to do so. They’ll hope they can win EL and/or have a good season next season and entice him to stay. If not just sell him next summer. He’s worth more to them for another season than selling him for £60m this summer.

New Orleans and Memphis are absolutely lovely to visit.
Maybe next time I'm in Greer at the BMW plant, I'll cross state lines for a beer in Charlotte
