Your example seems to be one of ignorance/lack of education. Using the term Dan is describing isn't that, it's to be downright insulting. The connotation being that the person is inferior.Cheers, Dan (and the three who DM'd me).
Imagine the closest analogue over here is the response you'd get by calling anyone who looks Latino/Latina "Mexican". Anywho, glad it's not a word I'd likely stumble into without meaning to.
Not really. "Mexican" isn't insulting to actual Mexicans.Cheers, Dan (and the three who DM'd me).

Bizarre as it is, I'd very much liken "Mexican" as a slur over here given what it means to the average American. It is used as a term to illustrate illegality, laziness, etc, all the stereotypes associated. People are generally smart enough to avoid the S word ("Spick", if you're curious), so unfortunately the legitimate nationality has become a stand-in.Your example seems to be one of ignorance/lack of education. Was very casually used when I was a kid, only really done so these days by the like minded to each other
There is one exceptionNot really. "Mexican" isn't insulting to actual Mexicans.
The P-word is universally insulting and used exclusively by racists.
On the same lines but a little more expensive. The better half has just ordered me one of these. Wasn’t sure if anyone on here might be interested?
Good for him. Arguably our player of the season so far. He's definitely gone up a level, that's for sure.Kilman contract extended to 2026
