On to another of our "easy" games...oh wait, they're 7th, above three teams we've already lost to this season. We also lost here last season, without doubt in slightly controversial circumstances but frankly, we weren't very good.

We have to hope that Dawson and Bueno manage to overcome the knocks they have because as we all know, we're criminally light on numbers at the back. All part of the plan though. I actually don't mind 3 CHs for this one, it seems a fair enough way to cope with the threat they have.

You might as well back Iwobi to score. I mean he scored every time against us when he looked like one of the worst players in the league, let alone now when he looks half decent. Adama seems to have gone off the boil after three good games at the start of the season (stop me if you think that you've heard this one before) and Raul will be a different proposition this time around; he'll never be what he was in 2019 again but he looks much more of a threat.

A draw would be fine here and would at least keep an unbeaten streak going.

You would think we’d be excited about returning after an international break but I’m viewing it as returning to work from holiday.
Left on a high, I’m not one of these who views England as a pain in the arse and have enjoyed their games. After all this I know I’m returning to a pile of shit and dissatisfaction.
The defensive issues aren’t resolved and it was more by luck than design that we kept a clean sheet v Saints.
DW team is what I expect it to be, a very stodgy midfield, having said that Sarabia might get another chance after scoring last time out.
It shouldn’t feel like it’ll be a routine home win but it does.
Fulham have a manager who’s got a good idea what he’s doing.

It needn't be stodgy, they're all very good footballers. If of course we park two or even all three of them five yards in front of the centre halves like they're a Karl Henry/Michael Mancienne 2010 tribute act then it will be.

..........Andre - Doyle - Gomes

.......Sarabia - Larsen - Cunha

We've spent the season scoring some well worked goals and conceding more shite ones. I saw nothing against Southampton to say that trend is going to change against average sides like this or better. We'll score, they'll score more.
Yeah that's how I feel. Unless we get an element of luck - a dodgy decision, a red card in our favour it does feel like it'll be a 3-2 defeat or something similar.

That's the conundrum isn't it. We aren't objectively rubbish like we were in 2003/04 (for most of it) or 2011/12 (for nearly all of it), or even arguably 2009/10 (appalling to watch and got a kind draw of basket case teams, including Pompey who were clearly dead from day one).

But the league table says we are rubbish.

Didn't Pompey do the double over Wolves in 09/10 ?

They did :D

The home defeat was particularly galling. They'd lost every single game up to then.

HORRIBLE team we sent out.

In fairness the away game was when we'd already mathematically secured safety, we properly clocked off and their players were playing for a spot in the FA Cup final XI.

Running the risk of persistent ill-informed scaremongering with my international break questions: no Lemina in the Gabon squad at all yesterday a bit odd?

Rested along with a number of other European based players. He did the full 90 on Friday

I’ll be listening on 5Live as I always do when we’re away and waiting for the ‘Goal at Craven Cottage’ announcement.

Anyone watch/listen to the presser? I can't be arsed to sit through his drivel anymore, but the headlines would be good to read. I have just seen that Santi is travelling tomorrow. Doubt he'll be involved, though.

Gary O’Neil of Wolves has a [very] quick chat about tomorrow’s game against Fulham:

“The’ve got a good style. Their players fit in excellently. It will be another real test for us.”

Team news: "There's a few to check on but I'm hopeful they will be OK. I don't want to give too much away. Santi has done some work on the grass and will travel with us."

On Fulham: "Marco Silva is an excellent coach. There is a good style and understanding. They've had an impressive transition from the Championship. It will be a test for us."

On future transfer budgets: "Wolves is a fantastic club, a big club, but we're still in the phase of trying to stabilise. After that comes progression but we're not there yet, it will come later. Hopefully in the future we are able to progress the club."

On Andre: "He's working very hard. CM is one of our strongest areas. He's adapting to the PL but he will be big for us."

Resilience: "We need to find the right blend. We do look like scoring goals but we're trying to find the balance between that and being solid enough. We want to be attacking but we do need to be solid."

On Fulham: "They have recruited well. Their starting XI is strong and they can replace them from the bench too. They are well balanced, but we go there with big hopes and we can cause them some problems."

GK selection: "Whenever we pick the team they are discussions and sometimes that's the GK. I'm pleased with Jose, his response has been excellent."

On Lima: "He rolled his ankle for the U21s and has been out for a couple weeks. He's not trained but he's nearing a return."
