In fact, if you want to invest and have the money, set up massive short positions to take advantage or bet on movements in the price of oil. Works for the big funds so must be available for the common punter, right?

The one difference is that big funds do it with other people’s money.

A common punter would be doing it with their own.

The concept is exactly the same. There is always a lot of money to be made from a falling stock market. But you do need those whacking great funds up front to get a broker to agree to set up the short position in case it goes tits up!
