Farage Ltd and Similar Watch

Semantic deflection isn’t an argument. Whether you label it “corrupt” or “strategic communications”, paying to discredit journalists instead of answering scrutiny isn’t a hallmark of transparent politics.

Corruption in politics has to have an element of personal gain from the abuse of power, usually financial. IE - lining your own pockets.

So I take your post as an admission that neither example you gave was corrupt then.

It's the fucking definition. Abuse of power for personal gain. Doesn't have to be financial, of course, but usually is.

Is the appointment of Mandelson a) politically stupid and b) wilfully blind to the facts about the man that were in the public domain at the time? Yes, of course, on both counts. But unless you can show me some element of Starmer personally gaining from it, then it isn't corrupt.

Equally, the paying of the PR firm to discredit a journalist. Is it trying to crush a counter narrative by underhand means? Is it distasteful and an action not becoming of what I want to see in a government? Yes. But if there is no financial or other personal gain, it isn't corruption.

Labour would prefer a Reform win to a Green one. The idea that they would ever be willing to work with the Greens is comical.

Its more that any price the Greens would demand would be too high, politically speaking.

On a national level, I suspect that's only proportional representation.

Ironically the only party where support for PR has fallen is in Reform, and even then all parties bar the Tories support PR. Can't see why Labour would therefore find it so hard to agree to those terms, if they have the interests of the country at heart.

What works in the states makes Farage look a cunt to a very large proportion of the UK electorate.

Hope you enjoyed the high water mark Nigel. It's down from here.

This next few days is gonna be an absolute cringefest of Trumpian accusations, and I'm here for it 💚
