The BBC apologising for referring to Reform as 'far right' legitimises them. If you accept MP's deemed top racist to be in the traditional Parties then by dint of that you're at the extreme end of that spectrum. Own it.

So as the only threat to the beeb comes from the conservatives rather than Tice’s mob, it should have relatively easy to tell them to get fucked on this point.

Yep, losing loved ones, wondering if your house would survive an incendiary attack, cowering night after night in a bomb shelter, desperately hoping a Stormtrooper wasn't going to come crashing through by your front door. My older relatives were always going on about how much fun it all was during the war.
Tosser.

You'd also need to be in your mid 80s to remember it now, closer to 90 for the bombing bits, so not many to tell him first hand he's chatting shit

The war certainly gave people a sense of togetherness and all pulling in the same direction but that’s very different to happiness. More a case of being grateful for small mercies.

blitz spirit. Fight them on the beaches and the landing grounds. Never surrender. Because so few who actually remember those times are still about it is really easy for the GBeebies types to usurp for their own keep the immigrants out methodology.

If they really want a history lesson it would be an arguable case to say Britain was happier under MacMillan in the fifties. I don’t know, I wasn’t about but he referred to it as “you have never had it so good”

No, we don't vote for a Mayor. We have 6 Reform Councillors all from broadly the same area of the East of the City, so as the leader of that group he gets a turn on 'merit', voted for by other Councillors. Labour walked out en mass when it was announced. He isn't the leader, it's more ceremonial
