[FA Cup 4th Rnd] West Brom 0-2 Wolves: Verdict Thread

Sorry moaning about opposing players giving it large after they’ve scored or our manager celebrating with our fans is just hypocrisy to highest level. Kevin Phillips, James Morrison, Ben Foster, Paul Robinson to mention a few have been highly inflammatory towards us over the years and we just had to accept it as banter.

Absolutely.

Neto only celebrated the same way Pereira did two years ago. I’m sure had Wallace or Townsend scored they’d have given it large also.

Yeah but the Wolves fan in their end...

I think their fans are failing to understand that, you know, their club being desperate for money/a full stadium made it possible for Wolves fans to buy tickets 🤣.

A couple on Westbrom.com claim their were fans around them wearing Wolves coats, in which case that’s appalling stewarding!

I doubt that seriously:
Firstly you simply wouldn’t get past the turnstile.
Secondly trouble would’ve ensued far earlier than it did and at least one Albion fan would’ve alerted someone.
The first goal would’ve been a trigger point.
People are stupid but not that stupid especially as a collective.
If it’s true then it’s serious question about WBA security measures.

I've seen that I really struggle to believe it though. Think of the checks at the turnstiles, the police cordons and then the fan policing way before the second goal. It didn't happen

It’s annoying me reading it being described as fighting between the two sets of supporters. It sounds like it was Albion fans fighting (or trying to fight) stewards/police/their own fans/their own players families.

It sounds like an undercover Wolves fan sparked it by giving it the big one, but as I say you just let the stewards escort him out. From the TV it looked like their fans went on the pitch to go after the police to be honest.

Most fans would leave it to the stewards surely. You have to be a particular kind of meathead to want to kick the shit out of another fan, regardless of allegiance, let alone exit your stand to run across the pitch to join in the fracas

You have to let logic kick in here, the trouble started immediately after we went 2-0 up and effectively end the game.
We all know as do anyone who’s watched a lot of football when your side is winning and clearly going to win all you want to do is gloat and celebrate not fight.
I think it’s obvious a Wolves fan lost control of his emotions or has got watermelons for balls.
That’s lead to a wildfire in the home end to a point a lot of people don’t actually know what they’re fighting for.

If the authorities knew that some of our support was involved, surely the club would have made a statement? Or have I missed one?

What are the club going to make a statement about?

No we’ve not as far as I know as said the official away fans generally as far as I could see looked on in whilst all hell was breaking loose
