[FA Cup 4th Rnd] West Brom 0-2 Wolves: Verdict Thread

If this toxic pile of shite of a match ever rears its ugly head again I expect all pubs in both places to be not allowed to open early and quite probably no away fans or at best bubble matches with the away coached in under massive police escort.

Bring it on though, eh?
Oh dear...a little fight and scuffle and a fixture that means so much to so many in the Midlands should be scrapped. Complete bullshit.

I never said it should be scrapped either. I said WMP will never allow it without a police state.

All what was kicking off next to the away end was all bravado and nothing more then kids pretending to charge the police. I've seen more violence at a record fayre. It was truly embarrassing watching it.

Never playing them again is basically the same as scrapped. We get your opinion. You've said it enough times.

As for WMP, perhaps if they had allowed us our full allocation then this might not have happened? Aldershot took more than we did and you could present an argument that if we had been allowed 1500 more tickets, as per the rules, then most of our fans who were in home ends would have been in the away end where they should be.

I've been at Celtic / Rangers games with a line of sticky tape to separate you and didn't see the scenes I saw yesterday. The Police could have done more and frankly, IMO, their decision to restrict the ticket sales to Wolves fans was part of the reason we saw what we saw.

Albion gave us 15% which is all they were obliged to do. Now the sanity of that decision and indeed their BOGOF offer is more than open to question and that’s why they will get in a lot of shit for what was seen.

I would also point out that bar the flare I have repeatedly said out fans did nothing wrong. As far as I could see they looked on at Albion fans acting like arseholes.

The problem is both the football authorities and WMP are going to take a very dim view and any future BCD, at least in the short to medium term is going to see severe restrictions.

You do know that away fans aren’t allowed at the Auld Firm now? I could see similar or at best bubble matches.

I don't think it would have made any difference. We'd have taken 10k+ if we'd been given the allocation. There'd still be plenty that wanted to go if we were given another 1k and they'd still have tried to buy tickets for the home end

Which ever way you want to colour it in, whether poor ticket allocation or just fucking idiots looking for a fight there is no justification for the shit that happened after Cunha scored. Whether it was our fans or their fans having a game suspended for nearly 40 mins is a disgrace.

Also Rangers/Celtic is so on the edge at the moment I believe no away fans are allowed in these games

We had 4,011 tickets out of a capacity of 26,852 just meeting the 15%. However, Aldershot filled that stand completely with over 5,000 going.

To be fair though, the policing of Aldershot fans would be significantly different to Wolves fans, giving us the minimum was fair enough for me.

Was at Celtic Park in the Rangers end when Ally McCoist scored the winner with 5 mins to go in a Cup quarter final many moons ago. Only 1,000 to 1,500 Rangers fans were there because Celtic Park was being redeveloped at the time. It was exhilarating and terrifying all at the same time. I understood how people died at football games that night.

I know they did. But that is a decision for Albion, which I did question when I added to my post.

Easily explained though isn't it.

Aldershot got extra tickets because the game didn't require every member of the WMP to be in attendance and having fans closer to each other wasn't going to be an issue.

Trying to avoid patronising Aldershot, but it was their big day out. Atmosphere would just be a party for them, Have a feeling if an Albion fan found an Aldershot fan sat next to him he wouldn't enlist 10 gammons to beat the shit out of him and they would probably sit and talk about the game (unless Aldershot were 4 up of course)

So you see why we got was required and not a ticket more.

Bigger issues than our allocation
1) How Albion sold their tickets after STH's and Members had got theirs
2) Albion fans selling them on
3) Wolves fans even buying them to sit with the home fans.

Sorry, I disagree. If this game had been properly policed by West Brom and WMP, none of the trouble yesterday would have happened inside the ground. There are reports that someone wearing a Wolves jacket was in their area, not sure how true that is, but how that is allowed to happen if it is, is beyond me. Then we have the nonsense of throwing bottles etc and nothing happening other than plod standing on watching. IMO, the Police wanted to restrict attendance by Wolves fans as they thought they had a better chance of controlling the crowd. In theory, that's probably correct but in practice, you saw Wolves fans in the home stands.

So basically we are arguing that Aldershot got more favourable treatment than Wolves? Sorry, but I'm not giving WMP any leeway here. It was a shit decision to restrict how many of our fans could go in the away end. It would always lead to this possibility. I don't get this argument of restricting ticket sales to Wolves fans because of the potential for trouble.

Tougher one to action. They go steaming in and we get a repeat at what happened at the other end. With how stadiums are set up now and the cameras looking at everyone they will know the people who threw them and should get a visit soon or at the very least a communication from the club saying they are not welcome anymore

That has to be 100% bollocks

Only one person on this planet that would be daft to rock up in the home stand at Albion in colours and he now lives in Australia...
He wouldn't have gone anyway... he wants the fixture scrapped.

Yes, they would get more favourable treatment because their is a 0.1% of shit kicking off.

They didn't restrict our tickets. They gave us exactly what we were entitled to have. Not on the WMP this one. All down to how the tickets were sold
