Ex-Wolf Watch

Neither Cunha or RAN feature in the Manchester derby today.

Maybe their transfer fees were about right after all - neither have set the world alight.

Expect both to rock up at the likes of Everton and Villa, next season.
Two assists for Cunha. RAN has been injured most of the season. Not sure this is right.

Dean Saunders is on Undr The Cosh this week....

Listened to it today - apparently, it's not his fault we went down, and he could 'transform any club' if he was given 5 years there.

Can't fault that logic - he took us to a level we hadn't played in for about 25 years after only 3 months in charge. Fucking weapon.

"5 wins, 5 draws and 10 defeats and they sacked me" - yes, you took us to League 1 you absolute fucking idiot. That's a point per game. That's relegation form. When he arrived, we had 31 points from 26 games. He made us worse - something that anyone with eyes could see, and the stats back that up.

The arrogance and self belief of the man is quite incredible. He makes Donald Trump sound modest. The vast majority of the episode is him doing his best After Dinner Speaker routine.

(I don't recommend listening to this if you are suffering with any form of stress at the moment - it'll tip you over the edge)

Didn't have five years at Wrexham but had three, and as far as I can work out, gained 0 promotions.

Managed five clubs and relegated three of them. Would have been four if Chesterfield didn't sack him in November (having only been appointed in May, and he sent them on their way towards non-league - they'd made the playoffs under Paul Cook immediately before appointing him).

Not managed anyone in over a decade. In demand, then.

Came in here and was quite bullish that we could make the playoffs. So it can't have been that impossible a job. How did that work out then, you melted Springsteen wanker.

Thing is if he was just hopelessly overpromoted and/or inept well, that's all on the club then for inexplicably giving him a job. But he combines it with being a grotesquely awful specimen.

The cunt.

I'd rather watch 10 years of Bruno Lage's football than 1 year of his, and I fucking hate Bruno Lage.

Also seems aghast that he never actually signed any players aside from free transfers.

I wonder why? If I owned a Ferrari, I wouldn't give Oliver Reed the keys to it.

Why do you guys do this to yourselves, its just self flagellation.
This from someone who can't stop watching Donald Trump outbursts😁

Remember when he said he'd have "watchers" at other games involving other nearly as shit teams, as we collapsed into League One?

1) It's not 1982. You can find out the scores very easily without leaving the dugout
2) WE NEED TO WIN YOU STUPID, STUPID BASTARD, NOTHING ELSE MATTERS

He didn’t make us worse, he just completed the job Solbakken started by not making us much better. Those Ipswich and Peterborough performances before he got sacked were as bad as we've ever been at that level with the possible exception of the end of Docherty. Saunders gets all the shit because he's an arsehole. Solbakken as a manager was as bad, but gets something of a pass for reasons unknown, we'd have gone down with even less points if he'd stayed. In a field that includes Mcghee and Lage, he's the worst man manager we've ever had

I dunno. We won 3 out of 4 games before those two Christmas shockers under Solbakken. We weren't very good but we won them.

Saunders came in and immediately won 0 out of 9.

With Bakary Sako and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake at his disposal.

I don't want to be the Saunders defender here as hindsight says getting relegated was the best thing that happened, but if those 2 had stayed fit we'd have stayed up. One did his ACL(?) and the other brought about the infamous all Summer to recuperate comment. He's a wanker, it's just Solbakken being given little blame that irks me, particularly with all that has come out from the players since.

Oh they share blame, I just would apportion more to Saunders.

He was also responsible for one of the most cowardly selections I've ever seen vs Cardiff at home when he basically threw a game because he couldn't be bothered to make a judgement call, and definitely the worst win I've ever seen vs Bristol City at home, we were disgusting.

I don’t think Solbakken would have taken us down though. And if we’d kept him that month we’d have had to back him with signings more suited to his style.

Not to say he was doing well or that he didn’t even deserve to be sacked though. I’d say Saunders did make us worse though, we didn’t win any of his first ten!

Crowing about 0-0s at Sheffield Wednesday and Derby when we didn't even try to attack, and both were below us at the time.

Went sailing past us as they hit on the cunning strategy of winning some games.

We might also have stayed up if he'd not ostracised Berra in favour of picking Coastal Erosion Johnson and Continental Drift Gorkss together.
