Ex-Wolf Watch

Did the wit and wisdom of Saunders survive the forum cull of old threads ? Full of the classic bullshit that he came out with.

I can’t find it 🙁

I can't speak for others, but I don't want to be reminded of the bullshit he came out with. I hated his character, and was appalled when he was appointed. So glad he has not been able to get another significant job/role.

Agreed. Seeing him being called 'Deano' on social media, is nauseating.

Not defending Saunders (why would I!) But when Wolves went down that season it was a record high points total to be relegated on... so in any other season we'd have stayed up. In many ways it was a blessing as he'd have kept his job!

Much like Mick before him when we missed out on the play offs with a record high total (I think)...any other season we'd have qualified... again probably a blessing as it typically ended in tears every time ( bar that glorious day in Cardiff).

Was Ken that missed out on the record high for the playoffs (78 in 2014/15)

Mick missed out on the last day on GD in 2007/08 but we only got 70 points, we didn't deserve anything

I knew I was pushing my luck with any stats based statement!!

I should have quit with just the Saunders one...

We'd have missed out on automatic promotion by a point if we finished 12/13 on 78 points. Ludicrous that we missed out on that number in 2015.

I 'm not going all 'told you so' I thought it was the right decision for both parties at the time but I did think we didnt give him much time to recover after such a bad injury and he deserved better.

Yeah, in hindsight most of us were wrong that he was done. However, I'm still confident he wouldn't have rediscovered his form at Wolves, he was broken, his confidence was shot and he needed the change. Also don't forget the first half of his first year and Fulham continued in the same fashion as his last year at Wolves, if that had happened at Molineux he'd have been miles out of the picture and his confidence hammered even more by the reaction from the stands. He wasn't ever booed but he was at the sigh and groan stage.

Yeah you're probably right but the soppy owd git in me would have liked to give him another half season.

He looks more like a rat than Bruno Fernandes tbqfh
