We should never have let Alf go.

Baz on set pieces was like a cheat code. Playing some shitmunchers setting out for a 0-0 and that just unlocked so many games in an instant. Fantastic guy too. And the best dressed Wolves player in history.

5 goals and 14 assists. I think that was about 1/5 of all the goals we scored that season.

He (Alfred) gave us a dimension in midfield we lacked until Gomes, IMO. Not the best footballer in the world but you don’t need to be to fit a system and be effective (hello, Awoniyi).

You can't put him in the top 5, but for that half a season or so under Lambert Helder was tremendous. Then the injury which killed him mentally if not physically
Yeah, he was so exciting to watch. Sad he didn’t turn out how I thought he might. Even when we paid £13m for him I just thought we might make a profit that summer on him

This discussion shows how good we’ve had it over the last few years, that’s for sure.

I’d probably go Neves, Moutinho, Raul, Boly & Douglas.

Feels harsh leaving out the likes of Coady, Jota, Patricio, Saiss… even Ryan Bennett who I have fond memories of!

Genuine opinion, not being a contrary twat! 😅 I just can't remember the last time I saw his name on the teamsheet and was excited?

I'm a troglodyte, aren't I? 😕

Seemingly often on this forum I think to myself - they can't actually say that word out loud can they, what does it even mean!? :D

Mountinho
Neves
Coady
Jota
Boly

Probably in that order too, honourable mention to Baz who had a better delivery than Beckham.

Neves
Jota
Raul
Moutinho
Coady

I almost put Neto instead of Coady and I would have included Nuno if I was allowed to. I still have ridiculous Nuno love.

Must admit, I've never been as struck by Moutinho as most people on here.

Maybe I'm just a troglodyte who doesn't appreciate some of the subtlety of his play, but (especially in the last couple of seasons) he seems to be a tidy but ultimately conservative figure to me?

Wouldn't have him in my top 5 favourites of the Fosun era 🤷‍♂️
He took Spurs apart this season in a glorious 45 minutes, vintage João.

You're allowed to be Aidy Bothroyd every now and again.

Now please go to the confessional and think about how you got to this position...

My top 5:

Raul, Jota, Neves, Moutinho, Boly.

Surprised no one’s mentioned Doherty 😉

Neves
Mouts
Raul
Jota
Douglas (shocked when he went to be fair but hindsight shows it was correct)

A top 5 is too difficult. Only name I'm going to mention as I don't think anyone else has yet is Romain Saïss. Absolutely love him.

He'd be in mine too I think. Massively underrated in our championship winning midfield then dropped in to make a quality pl centre half.

Special mention to Ryan Bennett also, never expected much but he was excellent for us.

Sigh!
I think as his time is drawing to a fantastic and memorable close, there should be a thread especially for the Moutinho, or the Nunes era, or our Portugese players especially as there's gonna be a good bit more in the weeks to come.
I was hoping to read about Everton and how they're gonna set up and how we are gonna counter them and vitriolic posts about Marmite Dyche....

Our season is dead (thankfully) Roy.

We know how Everton will set up
We know Dyche will stand in his technical area shouting gravelly bollocks at everything
Most just want this season to close now so we can move on
One of the aspects of the game, is one of the best players we have seen...maybe 2 of them are due to play their last game at Molineux. So that is being talked about and has expanded the discussion a little
Embrace how a forum works and celebrate this game means fuck all to us in the grand scheme of things
