To an extent, the game will slow down with experience but I think the gap from where he is now to where he'd need to be as a PL player is huge.

That could possibly be a reason. Nunes, Moutinho and Neves are all deep lying and we do need that more forward attacking midfielder in a 3. A Bruno Fernandes type.

The (admittedly small) times I've seem Nunes play ok, he offers us an extra dimension, protects the ball well possession and usually provides a positive piece of play, it's something we've missed for a long time imo.
I get the comments about his lack of impact so far but we've been awful all over the pitch in that time.
