Dean Watch.

He's always been a bit chunky but he could shift a bit when we first signed him (2008). He was bloody brilliant at this level - genuinely one of the top 15-20 strikers I've ever seen in this division for anyone - and got us a few goals in the PL as well. Over time - possibly through inactivity, as we gradually picked him less and less while we were in the top flight - his general play suffered, he became just a goalscorer and nothing else. His scoring record was alright even in the awful Saunders infused relegation season we had, he just didn't do anything else.

He then broke his leg in a clash with fat thug extraordinaire Paul Robinson, although on this occasion it wasn't a malicious tackle. He's never recovered from that, he never played for us again, went to Ipswich and was terrible, he's spent long periods clubless. He played in Jody Craddock's testimonial last May and he didn't even look like a footballer, completely finished sadly.

From what I have seen of SEB in a Town shirt he absolutely needs to be played up top in a two. The relegation kid is persisting with playing him up top on his own (Although he reckons he's part of three up front!!) and he looks lost. Very disappointing so far but that fits in with our disaster of a season.

This is honestly a nightmare. He was met with pretty much unanimous disapproval when he was appointed but at the same time most agreed he would be given time to see how he goes. He was on a hiding to nothing really from day 1. We were excellent last season but lost 4 of our 5 best players in the summer (Roberts, Clucas, Darikwa and Ryan). They were always going to be difficult to replace but he dithered and we have ended up with replacements not fit to lace their boots. Only Angel Martinez looked a good signing. His ACL went after 3 games. Chris Herd (ex Villa) looks like he could be a player but by the time he is fully fit his contract will have expired.

We wont sack him. That would mean the chairman made a mistake. He wont admit that. Especially after not bothering to interview anyone for what would have surely been a very popular job. The chairman looks to want out. He's sold the silver to clear his debt. Hired a yes man to take us down. Blamed the fans for not turning up every week (Record season ticket sales this season!). So Saunders is only partly to blame. But he has made it worse. Top of the league Walsall Saturday. LUMP on the home team.

An emotional return to the Villa would be nice especially after the amount of "you were harsh to get rid of him" nonsense I had from some of their supporters at the time of his Wolves exit. He will make an excellent replacement for the soon to depart Tim Sherwood.

Bolton. Or Birmingham.

Nope. It's offensive to football as a whole that he finds employment. I'd welcome Bolton and Blues re-appointing Megson and McLeish, but not Saunders. No-one deserves him.

I hate Bolton more than I hate Saunders. So it'd be a match made in hell. Or Horwich.

Hiya, Town fan here. This thread would be funny if it wasn't so darned true :(

I'm convince that Deano was tapped up for the job when he was up here after dinner speaking on 2nd Feb, coincidentally the day before Cook signed a new contract which I think made it easier for us to part ways. Make know mistake, Cook was an off-the-pitch liability, but I'd rather we'd kept him.

Just remembered another of his classics. Openly admitting that his game plan in one of the desperate games near the end (maybe Huddersfield) was for O'Hara to play on the left wing for the first 10 minutes and then switch back to the middle. I'm sure in his mind this dumbfounds opposition managers rather than making them laugh.

He did something like at away at Barnsley. For the first 10-15 mins, our formation was killing them and we dominated and took the lead and I think O'Hara rattled the bar and we missed a few other good chances. It seemed as if we would win that game with ease then with no reason (at the time) our formation changed and we went back to the relegation fodder we were and we lost. Then after the game the cuntsocket came out and said it was always his plan to start the game one way and then to change, regardless of what was happening.

I would rather we had Captain Cook then Dean #*~*~#" Saunders!!

He got the Wolves job when one of Steve Morgan's ex-Liverpool golf buddies recommended him (Ian Rush IIRC). No interview, we sacked Solbakken and Saunders was the new manager the next day.

Looking at that Chesterfield forum is genuinely saddening. All I feel is pity. It sounds like their Chairman is an absolute bell who isn't going to admit a mistake, which basically means they are fucking doomed to relegation this season. You can see how disillusioned fans are from their posts as well. Sleepwalking to their execution.

And there is a genuine possibility that the Tiger's Jap's Eye could be there next season. The poor poor poor bastards. Such a shame. Any fan would rather have an arseholed Cook falling out of any Wetherspoons in town during the week, and a team playing decent stuff than this fucking twat killing the team.

I must just relate my favourite Dean thing. I went to the fans Parliament at Compton not long after Kenny Jackett had joined. Behind the building are two first team training pitches. The penalty areas were roped off as the pitches were fucked. Jez said categorically that it was because of exposure to six months of Saunders ball.

It's the feeling of helplessness. I mean what can you do. I took pelters on here for boycotting the club for his final two months, but that really was all I could do.

You made an admirable stand sir, and i like to think had i been there i would have done the same. Fair play to you.

The man is a cancer on football.
We need to find cures for the likes of him, hoddle and redknapp (spits)
