It seems harsh to strip the titles.

Was Pedro delgado stripped? Was bjarne riis? Was Jan ulrich? Was Marco pantani?

Argue it for the sake of argument? Absolutely.

Argue it to prove any relevant point for any conversation? Not in the least.

Yep, the first bit.

Nothing ike a good LA argument, always guarantees a few pages!

I tis indeed harsh, especially as pointed out the 2nd, 3rd & 4th each year were probably at it as well.

But same time if an athlete was told in any sport that they would be stripped of all their titles/medals during their career if ever found with drugs, then its no bad thing and another weapon against drugs in sport.

He should be stripped of his titles if the process that finds him guilty has that as a remedy otherwise what's the point. They should declare no winners for those years that the millions of cycle fans were denied a clean race. Nobody knows who'd have won the race had it been ridden clean, least of all LA.

Couldn't find a general cycling thread...Sky has signed another Norwegian,Gabriel Rasch.

Hmmm, domestique, classics or both?

I guess both.

I honestly don't know much about him, other than he's talented.

Looks like the final leg next year will be up to Alpe d'Huez, sounds more interesting than the Champs Elysees borefest. :)

Champs is always the last. If they are going up Alpe d'Huez the day before it will be fucking awesome though.

11 of Armstrong's former team mates have testified against him.

He has to admit it now. Surely.

I don't honestly know, time and again he has tried to discredit his accusers and claim a witch hunt.

I think he's too far down the line to admit it now, best guess is he'll carry on refusing to defend the evidence with his "enough is enough" statement.

I suppose Marion Jones would be the precedent for someone finally putting their hands up when presented with incontrivertible evidence.

I don't think it's fair to devalue his charitable work or his own personal battles with his health, whatever he has done. He's not a fundamentally evil man, very poorly advised and weak willed, perhaps.
