Brilliant stage win by Cav having been set up by Wiggins and Boason Hagen perfectly. Really glad to see him nail that stage.

Brilliant from Team Sky, brilliant from Wiggins leading out the brilliant Cavendish.

As good a sprint train set up as you will ever see. It was over with 300 yards to go.

apparently Mr Cavendish is now on a par with Lance Drugcheat in terms of stage wins. Why are we not shouting this from the rooftops?

APPARENTLY SUPER MARK CAVENDISH IS NOW ON A PAR WITH LANCE DRUGSCHEAT IN TERMS OF STAGE WINS. WHY ARE WE NOT SHOUTING THIS FROM THE ROOFTOPS?

You are now and you can shout even louder on Sunday when he moves above him in the all time list.

I know absolutely nothing about cycling whatsoever, so I've a few questions for those who do!!

1. How much needs to go wrong for Wiggins to fail to win the thing?
2. Is he likely to win gold at the Olympics too?
3. Just how big a deal is winning the Tour de France? Can we expect New Years Honours for example?

1. Short of illness he cannot lose as convention says that the yellow jersey holder cannot be challenged on the final day.

2. A very strong favourite for the time trial, same discipline as he smashed the field in today.

3. Difficult to see any one else winning sports personality of the year unless Farah does the 5&10k double. I think he already has an mbe, so I'd expect an obe upgrade

....bit of each. Victory lap for the Yellow Jersey holder a race for the sprinters (Cavendish etc).

A nice easy day in the saddle with Champagne served from the race directors car.

He'll have a much harder time of it in the Olympic time trial than today, Fabian Cancellara and Toby Martin both retired from the Tour early to concentrate on it and are formidable opponents.

Cav for the win on the Champs Elysees tomorrow with Wiggins finishing in the bunch. Can't wait :)

I don't think it could have been any better, top 2 places and Cavendish winning on the Champs in the rainbow jersey.

Very happy :)
