I can see some logic to that. 3-4-2-1. At least Neves can't drop back to play alongside Coady if he is on the bench. Bennett not in the 18 at all.

I wondered if this was going to be a return to the 343? Either way I have been unhappy and Nuno has changed so that at least gets my support.

With City following Watford and the Europa game too its really important I feel we get max points next 2 league games. If for nothing else it blocks those two sides from getting away from us whilst we sort our issues out.

Come off it, we’ve spent ages turning Adama into a wing back, and can see the improvement - and now we’re just lumping him up front again? If we wanted him to be a striker he should have been spending all summer being coached on movement and finishing, he’s not someone who can play all over the place without preparation.

Hope this comes off but that doesn’t look like a team selection of a man who knows what’s happening right now, well i know we could have all had 100 guesses at the team and I don’t think anyone would have come up with that. In saying that though if Moutinho and Dendoncker play as a 2 in front of the 3 and Jota plays as a 10 and doesn’t drift to the left i think it could work.

Too much is read into team selections. It’s the style of play that will make the most difference. If it’s 3-4-3 like the championship then the players already know what they are doing so it will be fine.

I wanted Diogo behind two forwards, just didn’t expect adama to be one of them.

Not really got an issue with Saiss at centre back, and people have been moaning about Neves for a while

The encouraging thing with this selection for me is that if it IS Jota behind a front 2, Nuno has obviously identified the major problem we have all seen, the huge gap between the midfield and forwards, and is trying to address it.

Batshit insane selection imo, traore as a forward again with doc behind him... why? Neither one can defend and they will get in each others way attacking wise... both need the ball. Boly on the right... benno not even on the bench, thats gotta crush his confidence. No neves.

Why not our standart tactic with saiss instead of donk, and neves playing as an actual midfielder?

Not the lineup I’d have expected to be honest, he obviously thinks Palace are there to be got at and it looks like we’ll be playing on the front foot instead of sitting back and hitting long balls. Looks more like a 343 to me, I can understand Jota playing behind two forwards but really can’t see Traore being one of them. We’ll see come kick off I suppose but that’s a massive call by Nuno, hope it works.
