Crusaders (A) 2nd Leg Build up and Matchday Thread

One of the best unintended consequences from Nuno is that our fans, at least in the ground, are so much more patient than before. Imagine if last week's game had happened under a previous manager there would have been boos, moaning and all sorts going on - fans now are much more comfortable with us passing it sideways around defence as they know that it is a means to an end.

Jota needs to stay keep calm, this kinda shit sin always going to happen, hes said before that hes used to being bullied and bashed by bigger players all over the pitch but he looked out of control, had to be pulled apart. Beano was trying to talk some sence into him afterwards and he was arguing with him. He goes down for a penalty too easy, the refs have caught on and now theyre more likely not to stop play on a legit foul. I dont want to see him get sent off in an important match and even yellows add up down the line

Diogo Jota is what he is. If a booking last night - and yes, sooner or later he'll get sent off for retaliation - is the price we pay for his celebration against Man United and his sheer bloody will to win then I'll happily pay it. Absolutely love the guy's attitude

I think the telling thing was the rest of the players who could see exactly what was happening. Bennett literally took him to one side and told him it wasnt worth it. Jota is a wasp. Its his nature and he willcome a cropper some time but at least there are others within the team that recognise when his buttons have been pressed and calm him. He got subbed off last night quickly too. Nuno is no fool.

How many games has Jota played for us? How many games has he missed due to suspension? It really isn't an issue.

It's the new Berra gives away penalties with his holding

The Crusaders keeper enjoyed his night and the sweet smell of MGW

What an unbelievable experience to play against that @Wolves
side tonight! Quality from start to finish!@Morgangibbs27 smells like heaven btw #Memories

Very impressed with their keeper over the 2 legs. Not a chance with 5 of the 6 goals and will probably be kicking himself forever for the Vinagre goal at Molineux. Quick off his line in both games to deny a few scoring chances

Traore really needs to learn to run in behind. Doc's on the shoulder of his man a *lot* and gets into great positions because of it. With Traore's pace he could even give someone a couple yards head start and still get in, it's a mystery why he's not been able to grasp this yet.

Maybe he's being coached to play a certain way, I don't know, but I can't imagine that they would be doing that considering how differently he plays to Doc when he's out there. Learning on the job, obvs, but you'd have thought he'd know how to do it from his time playing on the wing anyway.

And yeah his crossing still needs work. Spooning air balls to the back post where Jota and Jonny are waiting to pounce is not the best. Maybe Cutrone will benefit more.

(This is nitpicking, btw, before anyone starts)

I thought the same. I could see him in league one or may be lower championship. I have certainly seen far worse in both leagues.

Now wondering if MGW douses himself in aftershave for a game :icon_lol:

MGW is playing out of position, and is still doing a reasonable enough job. If tredders is right, I am well pleased we're not loaning him out. He will learn here, around the players he's with.
The last 5-10 minutes of the game showed the glimpses of the talents he has. Giving him the game time, even out of position, well aid his development.
Lets not forget that we spent the last 15-20 mins of that game with no forwards/strikers on the pitch (I wondered if Nuno intended for Vinagre to play up front initially, in Jota's place when the sub was made). In spite of that, we still scored a goal with no forwards.
I thought Dendoncker had another good game last night, as well as Saiss looking good. Raul looked sharp as fuck!

Surely not? The guys on Premier Sports told us MGW coming on for Raul was a like for like swap

So many things that annoyed me on the comms last night and it was so obvious that zero research was done by Brown on the co-comms

A little thing I noticed towards the end of each half and something I've not seen Nuno do before is the high press. It worked fantastically well when Crusaders were trying to come out and Moutinho, Jonny and Donck looked right at home doing it. I wonder if we'll employ this against the weaker teams in the division after we've settled in.

Brown's as dumb as a post. Port Vale fans think he's genuinely stupid.

Apart from trying to do a Robbie Savage impression some of the stuff was bollocks

Jota goes missing in games for large spells
Armenia is far and wide
Biggest game EVER for Crusaders (ignore the fact that Liverpool played them in 76)
Spending £16m is huge for a club like Wolves

Genuinely the worst co-commentator I have ever heard. And I once heard Les Ferdinand mumbling his way through a Newcastle Champions League game on Granada Plus, when he literally had to be nudged to say anything at all.

What the hell is going on with his voice for a start, you don't talk like that Michael.
