Crusaders (A) 2nd Leg Build up and Matchday Thread

Good to see Traore is just as bad against £200 defenders as he is £20m ones.

Try not to be too hard on him but he really is poor and I don't understand those who defend him. Everything he does is so slow apart from his running. He is like a 18 million Joe Mason in that I don't know what he is meant to be offering. With such a small squad it is odd he gets kept as part of it.

I could swear that I've seen that phrase before on a forum of a rival club?

Last week he did ok, this week he has been awful.
I have seen him have some decent games

My views on him are well known...

I won't be critical today but I don't think he is doing himself any favours here. I can't see how shoehorning him into the right back position gives him any chance to show his talents. He is a paint-hugging wide player, and we simply don't play that way.

If Nuno wants a squad of 18* and then Traore surely has to go and we need a top end RWB to compete with or replace Doc.

*I'm assuming the next player in is Fernandes/ Dias/ Fernandez/ Olmo/ Bale/ Neymar/ Best (delete as appropriate)

Please be Bale
That would be insane

Obscene to say for an £18 million signing, but he’s a waste of a squad place.

I don't even think he is a good winger. He had that game versus Wolves where again he looked exciting and despite scoring I wasn't thinking 'here is a player we need'. He still looked utterly erratic. Compare how he gets to the byline and his cutbacks, with that one just now from MGW. Traore seems to make poor connection with the ball more often than not, and his mastery of the ball is non existant more often than not. I can't see how he is any different in training, given the smaller scale/space of a lot of training drills I see us doing on the videos we put out I am at an utter loss as to what a coach like Nuno sees in him.

Job done is the main thing. Not scintillating, but professional.

I do have some concern about Traore and where the hell he can play in this side if RWB isn't going to work.

Their lad Forsythe is a better crosser than Traore and Doc put together.

In an ideal world I would replace Traore and MGW. With the latter he clearly has talent but it rarely translates to a dominating match changing performance. I know he is learning but he is now 56 games, no goals and again tonight when he had the chance , fluffed it. His first touch wasn't great either.

Well if Traore cant cut it against the likes of Crusders, i see little hope for improvement against PL teams.
MGW seems to have gone backwards which is a pity. perhaps he needs a loan so he can get regular 90 minutes game time.

Hmm I've defended Traore a few times but tonight when he should be ripping up part time players.....he was quite frankly shite.

I don't think that would be a very good idea. £650k a week is not exactly a cheap plan...

Who said anything about cheap?

Bale would cause chaos to defences here. He does what Traore doesn't. And he can score. And he can defend. And I think he would enjoy it.

Jimenez - 2 goals
Bennett - Goal, O.G.
Jota - 2 assists
Joao - 2 assists

Interesting night's work for those four.
