Cracking Story

Assuming it made the printed version of the paper, they'll have probably got a couple of hundred quid for it which will be enough motivation

A & B, which leads into C = People who want something for nothing.
In this case, 2 people who really need a new TV, Laptop etc. Attempt to get it via shaming big company, even though the loss of items is fuck all to do with them.
Papers give them the coverage due to the demand to have news added throughout the day. Essentially every news outlet is now on a par with your local weekly paper.
 
Have none of you seen angry people in local newspapers Facebook page? It's full of this shite, it's worth following though just for the comments, some of them are properly funny and random, father ted and Alan partridge get quoted a lot
 
Not sure where thus best fits, so plumped for here, not a news story but something that happened at work last night.

Elderly customer at work today, she asked if we had the one pint bottles of milk, apologised and said no, we'd not had them for a few days. She dropped her basket, fell back against the shelves and burst into tears.

We sort of stare in shock for a second so I grab her basket and try to ask her what's wrong and calm her down, she has arthritis which is worse during winter she's struggled to the shop in pain and we don't have what she needs. I offer to walk round the shop with her holding her basket but she says the larger bottles of milk are too heavy, I ask where she lives and offer to walk her shopping home so she can get what she needs.

As we walk back to hers she points at a nearby church and says it's a terrible shame what had happened at Mackworth Church (nearby, arson attack last year) and how even if your not religious they're beautiful buildings I nodded and said about Notre Dame and she was like "oh yes!" and then told me I might not know about it but when she was in her 20's she lived in Warwick and the Cathedral in Coventry was destroyed and it dawned on me she was talking about the Blitz and she'd be over 100 years old if she was in her 20's when that happened in 1940. We spoke more and she told me about how she sat up watching Coventry burning and how as a teacher she wrote plays based on the Blitz and her experiences.

I wanted to help her because it wouldn't take anything for me to do so but found myself wanting to pie work off and listen to her all night I was hanging off every word.
